I’m a younger fan but was lucky enough to see them on this tour. 2011 I think? The show was amazing, however as we left the city the local radio station talked about the show and then played a little song called “Red Barchetta” my head fuckin exploded. The show was amazing but to hear this song I never heard before from a band who just blew my mind 20 minutes previously as we drove back home wow. I realized right then I wanna quit sports and be a musician full time. What a memory and pivotal moment of my youth. As my friends absorbed the techno, SoundCloud rap and metalcore, I was obsessed with rock n roll and That little moment was almost better than the show itself. It solidified my passion for playing music And made me Ditch my fears and pursue it. I’ll always remember that. R.I.P. NEIL.

That rock-'n'-roll hall of shame (that's basically what it is if you look at the entire organization objectively in depth! Jann wenner and the other jackass governing board members decide who they think should be inducted at any given moment without any outside criteria! I mean really, RUSH,KISS and especially the rock God's/icons DEEP PURPLE get inducted only after Madonna, run dmc and those fucking puke, pop, punks green day get in? Well that's just my opinion, but I'm sure most of you fans feel the same way about this whole lame ass institution!) Induction speech ALEX gave was done specifically for the benefit of the governing body as to not give them the acknowledgement nor validation they crave, yet do not deserve,! I thought it was most appropriate considering ALEX'S sense of humor!

I met Alex at a Becker's convenience store when Rush was producing Hemispheres. I didn't want to talk his ear off but he was very friendly and appreciates his fans. I asked what they were working on and he mentioned the most difficult album yet, were calling Hemispheres. He even talked about how Neil was recording nature sounds with a parabolic mic, he could tell I was into technology. That was great to talk to Alex about Hemispheres and like 4 months later it's released, great album.

How Rush went through this bit without laughing is a major feat in itself! "Hey, is that MY sandwich?" That sandwich did look good, and the fact that it was alone on a literal silver platter made me think that it was an important sandwich, like through the entire show Neil was thinking about that sandwich. And to have half of it eaten by some dude would have really made him angry.

Funny thing, Ged DOES sound like he's singing "Sawyee," but not during that part of the song. It's during "Exit the warrior, today's Tom Sawyee..." And they do a joke about fans mispronouncing Neil's last name, which TOTALLY happens... except fans don't mispronounce it as "Pairt" like they do here; they usually say "Pert." (Both are wrong. It's Peart, and you need to put the "ear" in your pronunciation of it.)

I was a little boy in a small ontario town. My buddy and I would go to this railhouse. it was a train station and restaurant and there was an arcade room. there was a corner store across the street as well where you could get cheap and awesome sandwiches. i must have been 9 years old. one day this guy came up the service road with a buddy. they stopped in and we guarded their bikes. I talked with the one man for about 45 minutes because he was on a bicycling adventure. I remember the red panier bags he had on the sides of his wheels. I talked to the man about hiking on the bruce trail and the small town and bikes and he told me about some of his cycling adventures. then came the mind blowing moment. While we were talking music came a subject. I started playing guitar for about a year. I told him a " one time....." story where i put all of my raffle tickets into a brown paper bag at my school to win a record "and all the grade 8's were cheering when i won". He asked me what the record was and I said " Rush Archives". The man was Neil Peart.
