The husband character is a stereotypical lower education, blue collar worker that gets bullied by his entitled, drug addicted wife. I was bullied by a kid 3 grades ahead of me and about twice my size in second grade. Yes a fifth grader picking on a second grader, I could always out run him but one day I got sick of running, turned around and tripped the big bastard. He fell to the ground and compound fracture on his forearm. Same teachers who wouldn’t stop him wanted me to apologize to him and his parents I refused and was suspended for a week in elementary school. Bully never looked in my direction again and also never bullied other kids. Parents need to teach kids to stand up for themselves. Told the bully to shut up and leave him alone and if he didn’t he was going to regret it. Bully said why don’t you come here and make me shut up. Kenny got up and walked over and as bully was getting up, he hit him with two right crosses, the first one dazed him and the second one knocked him out. @@bloodybones63 When my family moved to the burbs of Chicago from the Bay Area back in 69 I found myself in the position of getting beaten up every day by a group of bullies in 7th grade. There were always 6 to 7 of them, and the school administrators refused to do anything about it. My father, who was teaching me to box, tried to convince me that I should figure out who the ringleader was and just deck the guy. When I pointed out that the other 6 would just beat me even worse, he said, yeah, that’s true, but if it costs the ring leader a bloody nose every time then sooner or later he will stop. I told him I didn’t want to solve this problem by becoming MORE like the guys who were beating me up. So My dad gave up. My mother then told me there was another way, but it was a lot harder to do. I asked how and She said ‘you have to let them beat you.’ I said that’s pretty much what’s going on now. And she said, ‘no. I mean you can’t even try to avoid it. You can’t cry, you can’t get angry, you can’t react emotionally in any way. You just take it, silently and give them NOTHING. She explained that they are only doing this because they get some sick satisfaction out of it. Out of hurting you. But if you give them absolutely nothing in return, they will lose interest and move on to other things. So I tried that. And after a week of getting beaten up every day at lunch… one day they just stopped. I never had another guy pick a fight with me thru the rest of grade school. I never forgot that and I became very good at defusing hostility rather than escalating it. But I still knew how to box. And later I took some martial arts, But aside from a few veiled threats, I have never really had call to use them. My martial arts instructor was a wise fellow who stated that the best martial artist sees the punch coming and steps out of its path. That’s how I live my life. Though, I HAVE been sued. And trust me, I would rather take a beating than go thru litigation. But among grown ups, MOST physical fights these days end up in litigation. The litigation hurts worse. Never let anyone provoke you into a fist fight. It’s just gonna help buy some lawyers new Bentleys.

I was bullied from 1st to 4th grade and later also during the entire 7th grade. My parents taught me not to give in to the bullies and told me that I should defend myself in case I had to. I never got into a big fight but a few times I had to use violence, and the teachers blamed me for everything. I had a reputation among teachers for being a problem child, they even separated me from my class for 5 months because of that. There were only 2 teachers who stood up for me and they have my respect for that
@BigChungus-zg6zw7 ай бұрын
Most teachers are cowards. They teach because being around kids makes them feel big and respected. When a kid stands up for themselves against the odds it shames the cowardly teachers, which is why you get punished more for fighting back than starting a fight.

Great acting by the wife. That's pretty much all loud women who square up to men. Obvious that they've never been hit or understand consequences men do.
@siggyincr74477 ай бұрын
Sadly some people just don't care. I've seen women who've gotten knocked on their asses in the past still pick fights. It's just like the loud mouth guy who picks fights with a guy twice their size. They know they might get their ass kicked but can't keep their mouth in check.

@@badsniper8189 I'm excellent at my own craft, for which I'm paid good money. I have never pursued acting, but I can still critique it. If you go to a restaurant and the food is terrible, do you go: "well I can't complain, since I'm not a chef myself". That doesn't make any sense.

I have been a high school special education teacher for over 30 years. This is my last year. The parents, not my students, are the reason why. I can't even begin to tell you how that actress playing the mother absolutely nailed it. I'm so done. I have never been so appreciative of being 59 as I am now. I have such empathy for the teachers who are starting out and who really want to make a difference. I wish you luck and I so wish I could give you "some," just a little bit, of "power." But I can't. I'm so sorry and so broken hearted and disillusioned and bewildered by so much that has all happened so fast. It's never been easy of course, but when the parents possess such arrogance, entitlement and self congratulatory flattery that borders on total neurosis, and the administration that is supposed to aide you does nothing out of fear and complacency, well then... terrifying. I had a good run though. I thought I had at least another five or six years but I can't. God bless us all. Be well.

My family moved to a small town in Upstate New York. I was playing in my back yard when 7 neighborhood kids, 4 boys and 3 girls came up to me. I thought they wanted to welcome the new guy but they jumped on me. The big guy got me down, the other kicked and punched. The Big guys mom intervened and took him away. I went bezerk mode on the others. They were all down and bloody. I never had a problem after that and became friends.
