"The Beekeeper" is the latest movie dumped into January, catering to the appetite of action lovers. Directed by David Ayer and headlined by the indomitable Jason Statham, it's a bold, self-aware saga that leans into the absurd.
At the heart of this swarm is Statham’s Adam Clay, not just any beekeeper, but a Beekeeper with a capital B. He's a retired operative from an ultra-secret organization, a shadowy figure tasked with maintaining balance in a world teetering on the edge of pandemonium.
The character is a blend of solitude and suppressed fury, his life a quiet testament to the calm before the storm. That calm is personified by Phylicia Rashad’s Eloise Parker, the benevolent landowner who provides not just a patch of earth for his hives, but a touch of tenderness in his storm-ravaged life.
However, their tranquillity is shattered when Eloise becomes the target of a powerful Cyber-Theft organisation with deep ties to the US government. This ignites a firestorm within Clay, turning the serene guardian into an avenger of human decency. His world, a sanctuary dedicated to the meticulous art of beekeeping, becomes the unexpected battleground for a confrontation of epic proportions. What unfolds is a maelstrom of vengeance-a ballet of over-the-top beatings, a symphony of explosions, and a relentless volley of gunplay.

@@filmcomicsexplained well apart form the writing, this movie definitely trying to remove her from the acting career. Gosh i hate every scenes she appears. Gosh damn. Her acting does not even show her mourning for her mother's death. I don't give too much for the writing but previous scene she witness her mother death, next day, she act and talk with her smile on her face and cracking some jokes even though her mother's death because of scam network. She even "BeCausE I SwEaR to THe CounTRy". Her acting was so bad that i have to spend my time writing this commend and search for her name in order to avoid every movies she was in. What an absolute shittiest performance.

@@datnguyenthemanh4936 I am glad that I found someone who also thinks the way I do about this actress, who was actually pathetic! I agree with all you say about how lightly she took her Mom's death and even though Clay was going after those who conned her Mom, all she could do with go after him - you just see scenes of her with her gun up - dreadful and boring...She was weak and her acting ability was inadequate and extremely poor - in every scene she appeared, I cringed... She actually spoiled the film for me. That is when these actresses are chosen according to quotas and in which minority group they are in, and not for their acting skills - the whole of Hollyweird is now affected by the WOKE and INCLUSION mind virus and that is why films are now all the same "repeated rotton junk" - different actors but stories without any depth and of course the "inclusion agenda", with race-casting everyone. Also the story was thin and also not that accurate - why are rich young white yobs, sitting in their prestige offices in highrises, scamming little old ladies out of their meagre savings...? this does not make sense - the real cyber scammers and con-artists are either sitting in the direction of India and Pakistan or in the middle of crime-ridden Africa, in these internet cafes - while in Turkey, they have schools teaching their "students" haha! the Grandchildren trick to con money and pensions from old people in Europe... but of course it stands to reason in Hollyweird/woke, Netflix, Amazon, Prime, Disney and the like, that the "badies" have always got to be the stale, pale white males... That is the agenda in today's film industry, which is causing the whole of the entertainment industry a lot of damage.

My family teases my dad all the time about his “celebrity crush” being Jason Statham, but he’s a huge fan of all of his movies even the bad ones. I asked him about it one time and he said he just likes a good mindless action film like from the 80’s. He also told me his favorite Jason Statham movie is Crank, which I don’t blame him great movie. I agree with my dad, it’s fun to watch mindless action films and turn your brain off a bit, he also liked the movie Wrath of Men, I liked it too but I didn’t understand it the first time.

I've come to look at movies the same way I look at choosing a restaurant to eat at. Sometimes, I want something that's heavy, that will stay with me long after it's over (i.e. films like Oppenheimer). Other times, I want something that's quick and easy (i.e. most comedy movies). While this movie follows a lot of the usual action tropes, I really enjoyed it. It might not have been that deep or subtle, but it was just straight-up fun

Good film if not a tad cliche in a few spots. I felt that the daughter, her arrival seemed a little unusual. Because she apparently just appeared out of nowhere. We never hear that she was going to come over and visit or anything like that. Or at least I don’t recall. Not only that, but she didn’t seem all that broken up about her mother‘s suicide. There’s also the fact that I don’t understand why these kinds of call centers would be in the US. Because the majority of them are located outside of the United States. And, of course, the fact that they essentially make it so that the mother of the I guess you could say main antagonist of the film turned out to be the president. Was kind of stupid. I will say this, though the idea of repurposing a I’m assuming algorithm of sorts to sniff out money as much as I hate it it’s actually a rather smart thing to do. All the actions and all that aside one thing that I thought was a good moral in this story was the simple fact that you genuinely have to be careful when dealing with random things that pop up on your computer.
