A lot of people misunderstand this saying that Red Hood only won cause its an elseworld story. Thats not the only reason. Injustice takes place in the future,characters are older. This is an older and more experienced Jason Todd than the mainline version,just because he was already an adult doesnt mean he reached his peak. Even the writers have stated that 25 year old Dick Grayson would easily beat 25 year old Bruce yet he is not quite as good as the older Bruce. Characters improve over time as they refine their skills. Jason here is 32 years old(Bruce is 44) as the Injustice is based on the New 52(Damians aging was accelerated),and in video game they made Jason actually taller than Bruce,you can even it in their stare down here,Jason somehow grew to be 6'2.5 even though he was 6'0 Its shown in many futures that the Robins will surpass Bruce eventually. The one with the most potential is Damian,though people dont like to admit that. Injustice Damian is still young, its stated by several characters that he hasnt reached his potential. They updated his height from 5'10 to 5'11.5 in Injustice 2,and we know from future stories like Batman 666 that he ends up being a 6'6 monster Not that height means something but as you can see in DC its used to symbolise a characters growth in ability

But the point of this fight is by Injustice 2, that Jason is in his mid 20s and is actually at his physical peak, while in the normal comics, he's only college age. yes literally anytime somebody wins in a story it is definitively plot armour. that's how stories work. there is no overarching master-canon that some people can deviate from and some are true to. stories are stories, and when simba beats scar in a one-on-one fight it's plot armour. when luke beats darth vader it's plot armour. when this jason todd beats batman it's plot armour. it's the way the story was meant to go, according to the plot. anything that happens in a plot happens because plot armour.

As much as I agree with Jason on a lot of things, he usually doesn’t do the things he does well. So him being able to beat batman, sure, but if he took over then the crime would in turn get more violent as he got more violent. It’s weird but if you watch under the red hood, Jason is trying to make black mask desperate and make a deal with the joker to get to joker, and while that works, the crimes black mask does to counter red hood is very violent and escalates quickly. Now take this to other crime lords in Gotham, and you might see less crime, but you would see more violent crime when crime actually happens. Gist of what I am saying is that Jason’s way of doing things would make things overall worse cause crime lords in response would be a lot more violent and crimes like shootings and stuff would increase therefore killing more people. Now with cases like the joker, sure he needs to be put down, but if they really wanted to solve crime in Gotham, killing wouldn’t do anything, but fixing the flawed justice system in Gotham is.

You know nearly every superhero has a villain like that? We hark Joker and Batman's thing because their on the top of the banana pile, the most famous example. Horrific folks that deserve to be on death row a hundred times over but won't be killed by the hero when there's a chance to. Carnage, Ma'alefa'ak, professor light, red skull, even Jigsaw when they wrote punisher really really really out of character. It's a literary issue that writer pretend is a moral issue in universe to try and make it interesting. Recurring rogues are both a great asset for superhero genre, and a great weakness. Villain Characters have a chance to be used for all manner of situations and have a greater chance of becoming iconic, but it can be absurd how they manage to continuously wreak havoc as that suspends folks disbelief. It's not a simple condumdrum to solve this late in the game, but Batman's shouldn't get the blame for not ending what the franchise wont end.

If he kills, he becomes the murderer that killed his parents, he becomes Joe Chill.
