Kane Hodder was in top form for this one. One of his "tricks" is that Jason always turns his head in the direction he wants to go, then starts moving. When the script called for Jason to snap Sven's neck, Hodder protested. Said it wasn't brutal enough for Jason. So it was changed so that he SLOWLY broke his neck. 18:08

Legendary Cameo Fact: David Cronenberg's cameo was done as a favor to his former protege Director Jim Isaac for loaning his Canadian-based production crew to him. In exchange, he wanted to get killed on screen. Financial Success Fact: While this film was a critical and financial failure in its initial release in theaters, it made more than triple the cost of production in DVD and post-theater sales. Statistically, It is one of the most successful 'Friday The 13th' films. Personally, I actually love this movie despite its many flaws! Feminism Marches On Fact: Neither casting director Robin Cook nor director James Isaac initially wanted to do the virtual reality scene with the naked campers. Cook was so adamant the scene was nothing but gratuitous nudity that she refused to cast the roles of the two topless girls, relegating those duties to her casting assistant Andrea Kool. Isaac agreed that it was clearly just nudity for nudity's sake, and the only way he could personally justify it is if they had fun with it and poked fun at the franchise including naked teens in its films. The two actresses Kool ended up casting, Kaye Penaflor and Tania Maro, were very excited about doing the scene because this was the biggest film either of them ever appeared in. Kaye Penaflor and Tania Maro are my heroes.

Many people think only Jason’s mask landed in the lake because that’s all we see, but that’s stupid. During the shot where Jason is falling to Earth 2, you see Brodsky’s body burn up, but Jason keeps falling. His body is thicker than the mask, yet the mask survived. What happened was, metal straps that held the mask attached to his head got burned off, and so when he landed in the lake, the mask broke away from his body. Jason is now on Earth 2, in that lake, ready to pick up where he left off. Unlike Freddy and Michael, who had more or less definitive ends to their continuities, Jason survives in his.

@The-Underbaker, err, no yourself. Absolute chance that Jason survived reentry, because the flesh of his new body was protected by the armor he had. All he needed were some pieces and he’d regenerate, not to mention that his fleshy parts aren’t like normal flesh anymore, and that’s before the ants got to him, so yes, he definitely survived greenery, that’s what that entire ending scene was about with the two teenagers; to show that here goes the whole thing all over again.

I recommend the "Never Hike Alone" series. It's three Friday the 13th fan films. They're pretty damn good. In the first one, there are little sticks with flags attached in certain areas. Try and guess what they mean.

Space Jason deserves another film. And Blank I believe we as a community, you included, have done a good job of making J a horror film fan. I'm sure he would have never considered being a fan until this channel. I love to see it. Another classic horror franchise to react to would be the PHANTASM films. At least the first 4. Or the first two CRITTERS films. BUBBA HOTEP would be another great Bruce Campbell film. Another honorable mention Sam Raimi's DARK MAN. Any of or all these films would be great to see with J. Is this film bad? Perhaps. Is this film silly? Absolutely! Is this film enjoyable? It's perfect film to much some popcorn and watch so-bad-its good and silly entry of Friday the 13th. I really like what they did, going in space. Not best film of the franchise, but also far cry from the worst. This brings something new, I can always appreciate that.

Fun fact Lisa Ryder and Lexa Doig who play Kay-Em 14 and Rowan were costars on the sci-fi tv show Andromeda during the filming of this movie. On Andromeda Lexa played an android and Lisa played a human character. But here on Jason X their characters are opposites.

This film gets a llot of criticism, but just personally it's one of my favourites. My favourite Jason film is Jason Lives, this is roughly level with Jason Takes Manhattan as my second favourite. It does something different, away from Crystal Lake. As a Trekkie, to me this is kind of like Jason meets Star Trek.

Hello Jay and doggos! Not sure how I missed this when you first premiered it. While this one is pretty ridiculous, it isn't the worst of the sequels. Always fun to watch Jason do his thing. Horrible movie, but I saw it in theaters, and it's a guilty pleasure of mine. i don't like how Jason looks, he has patchy hair on his head lmao Always remember Michael Myers is the real goat. Jason is only a pale imitation, and even Sean Cunningham who directed the first Fthe13th and the rest of the crew have said throughout the years that without Halloween, there is no Fthe13th. They saw the money Halloween made, and freddy and Jason were born out of Halloween. When you mentioned you can smell him coming, that shit had me rolling, because it made me remember an SNL skit in the early 90's, where jason is hiding under some stairs but his potential victims smell him out lol.

Jason X and Freddy vs Jason are the only movies associated with the Friday the 13th franchise I'd ever watched all the way through for a very long time and they both still my favorites. Both are ridiculous, full of goofy one liners and saturated in over the top violence. Jason X is dumb as a box of rocks, but it's absolutely a fun watch.
