Lovely video Jason. I taught English in Aswan from 1975 to 1975 with VSO. They were raising Philae temple at the time. My flat was above that place where you got the juice I think! There weren’t any big cruise ships back then, but the Nile is timeless and Aswan still retains its charm.

Jason, first of all, your beard is always so well groomed. I've always noticed this but now I am 1 week into growing my beard and now I REALLY notice this detail. The temples were so beautiful and peaceful. I know tourism is dead, due to Covid19, but you are really lucky to have these temples all to yourself. Just amazing. I plan to visit Egypt in 2022. Everything should be normal by then. I hope the Egyptians are faring well through this crisis. Look forward to more.

Just looking at all the intricate carvings and reliefs on the walls, the enormous temple complexes reminds me of the sheer amount of history there. I remember reading historical accounts from Roman tourists marveling at the great cities of Egypt, the Nile, the grand temples and palaces. It was old and wonderful to the Romans just as it is to us now.

I like grenadine schweppes I often buy it at the supermarket just around the corner and there is also the mandarin schweppes and in cafes it is sold in can. I know it has nothing to do with Aswan (lol!) normally the temperature should be cooler at night because it is winter but I don't know if the proximity of the Nile affects the humidity level during the day, even in this season. anyway Aswan deserves the detour even if it is the antipodes of a city like Alexandria for example. enjoy your trip Jason and take good care of yourself ! Greetings from Algeria to the Egyptians!

Luxor is one of the oldest cities in Egypt of importance to the Pharaonic history. I hope that you will visit all of them with their temples and also if you are tired of the crowds and noise in the Egyptian streets because I have Egyptian nationality and I live in Cairo and I know that, so I prefer you to visit tourist places on the Red Sea in Egypt such as Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, Ain Sokhna, and the city of Galala. These places are quiet, beautiful, and have stunning natural beauty. I hope you will visit them. If you do not know those cities, search on Google and see the pictures. You will like them or ask some friends who went there and they will tell you and I wish you a happy trip Your friend from Egypt❤️❤️
