How does Anthrax work for free when theyve been around for 30 years, and get hooked up by Metallica, and Slayer? Does food, crew costs, beer, plane tickets, and anything else really make the band break even? Or are you just being shy/humble about it to make fans believe you're broke asses?
@killtheflaws80
@killtheflaws80 6 жыл бұрын
You gotta make more than atleast $100 a day playing shows or else you cant survive man. Cmon Jason, be real with me here.
@tw19771
@tw19771 5 жыл бұрын
@@killtheflaws80 Not too sure about Anthrax finances, but most bands these days are break even, if that. Half of the festivals barely pay these bands I bet, and if they do the bands lose money. Unless you are a big act say at least the popularity of Slayer, as a band life is gonna be tough. Even Slayer had financial disputes with Lombardo whining that he wasn't getting paid well, when the truth is he was going through a divorce and about to get cleaned out by his ex. Then there was Greg Christian taking the same line to the press, and quit Testament. And the same thing is happening with Slipknot currently. The only way these bands can really make it stick is if the members have another income stream, and if you are a touring musician its smart to have that, because most of these cats can't feed themselves on the road without it. So I don't question Jason saying this at all.

I've opened for morbid angel , stp and S.T the most I've ever made in a week doing it was 500$ it may seem good but most weeks were nothing more than a hundred or two but I never did it for money it was all for respect and love of rock and roll , I almost won the drumoff in 2012 and have played at namm in CA check out my low budget drum covers I did in my basement but with 2 kids I haven't had the time or resources to do any bands as of late 🤘
