Thanks. I like the tips on weathering. The result you achieve is, to my eyes, very realistic.

A great build! 109s are just awesome - there's an endless supply of camo schemes and they have a mean look from every angle just like a weapon of war should.

When painting large yellow sections, I always base in pink - really helps give a solid yellow

Thank you, good vid. That weathering technique will come in handy on the three or four kits I have currently on the go, one of which is a rather large 109G2 (Trumpeter 1/24 :) The painting part is not my favourite thing so this is really helpful. Thanks again :)

Nice model, Eduard fit & finish could be better for the extra money their kits cost, I only do minor weathering on my aircraft kits. Keep the videos coming, good stuff! Cheers from Japan!

Great video, did the metal colour of the aircraft ever show through as in chipped or worn areas?

Jason - Merry Christmas! Love the channel all the way from Wisconsin, US. As the BF109 guru, can I ask your advice, please? I'm a novice with planes and am building Revell's 109 G2/4 in 1/35. Have the primer coat but thinking about how best to do the pre-shading on the panel lines. Do you use black or a very dark gray? Do you thin the paint more for this purpose and spray at a lower PSI? I would greatly appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks - Mark

I heard that this models molds were destroyed in the fire that Eduard had. If true that was the standard molding.

Decals should be applied onto gloss varnish. Then use a fixer to create a bond between decal and model. Apply the decal and use a cotton bud to remove excess fluid. Use a softener on the decal and wait for them to dry. Next reapply a gloss varnish which should prevent silvering. I have found that if the water is too hot when loosening the decal the sticky bond can be lost.
