It was my first time camping in this wilderness area but quickly Noganosh became a new favorite spot. This video is part two of an AMAZING Camping Trip in Noganosh Lake Provincial Park.
Last year I went in and explored Magnetawan River Provincial Park with Derek, so this year we headed into Noganosh Lake Provincial Park which boarders Magnetawan River Provincial Park to the north. Our Magnetawan trip was my last canoe trip of the season and the fishing was fantastic. You can check out the video here • CAMPING in Magnetawan ...
This time we head out for a 5 or 6 day trip to explore Noganosh Lake Provincial Park and try our luck backcountry angling canoe fishing for Bass in this beautiful non-operating Ontario Provincial Park.
Blog Article: trailguidepictures.com/nogano...
In this video we head into Noganosh Lake from Smoky Lake where we spend two days. The fishing quickly becomes epic and the trip becomes very memorable.
I hope you enjoy this short wilderness canoe camping trip (trip-report style) video of our backcountry canoe trip in Noganosh Lake Provincial Park.
Big shout out to Jon @BackcountryAnglingOntario for the work done to create the map that was so very helpful during this trip. Check out his great channel here: / @lostlakes
Also, Thanks to Derek who was a huge help on this trip while I was dealing with a shoulder injury. Derek also tried his hand operating the camera for a few shots. Thanks buddy.
I hope you enjoy this video. Thanks for watching! 🙂

Nice smallmouth! Looks like you got perfect weather. I stayed on that island about 10yrs ago before it got burnt down, certainly was a prime spot. Watching this is making wanna get back there again. That was the site that we stayed at a couple weeks before you got there, where you had the blueberry cake and had the smiling snapping turtle.

Well Jason: This is a very good video about what is apparently a fishing Shangrila . Being unsupervised I was worried about the camp sites conditions. You have allayed that. At 80 I have to be aware of portage conditions & frequency. I'm itching to give this place a try with my grand son. How can I get one of those maps? Thanks for bringing me along Brian 80

Hi Brian, It was a great place for fishing and camping. The portages weren't that bad. I think if you had someone with you to help with the carries you'd do fine. You can find the details of where to find the map in the description of the video or go to the blog I'm writing for this location here: trailguidepictures.com/noganosh-lake-provincial-park-canoe-route/

Nice relaxing peaceful trip. I always love the sounds of the loons. How do you enjoy the hammock ?
@TrailguidePictures
@TrailguidePictures 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the loons have a majestic sound I think we all love. The hammock is great. As I'm getting older I find sleeping on the ground problematic but the hammock is up off the ground and I have less pains and aches the next day.

It must be fantastic paddling on glass, and you're the only guys out there. One thing though, why did you cut the blueberry loaf into four when there was only two of you? 😋😉😁👍

Paddling on glass or with the wind to my back - my two favorite ways to go. As for the bread... I don't know. I guess it's habit.

Hi great video been a few years since iv been to Noganosh I'm trying to find the year we built the site you are staying on back then there was nothing but bush we brought in plywood and a seat made a thunder box. had some great times great fishing pike, bass did you use the jumping rock off the front of the camp ?
@TrailguidePictures
@TrailguidePictures 4 жыл бұрын
I thought about using the rock for jumping off, but with the sore shoulder it was tough to just casually swim. Sounds like you have some good memories out in Noganosh, so I have to ask.. How did I do with these videos? Do they represent the area well enough?

Hey jason,was the portage easy to find from the river to smokey lake.and how many to noganosh and about how long? Thanks,great vids.
@TrailguidePictures
@TrailguidePictures 4 жыл бұрын
Yes it was. Super easy. If you use the map there is a hunting lodge on the north end of the portage you can watch for. Only 3 small portages in total.

That's a kevlar skid plate. A lot of canoe companies are adding them around here but most you don't see because they are gel coated to match the colour of the hull. Mine is the natural colour of the kevlar felt. I think it goes well enough with the cedar strips. Thanks for watching and the compliment
