Premium video Jason. Short, pump-music, great examples, realistic suggestions, and a titan showing how it's done.

Thanks for commenting! Not sure why you would make that assumption or conclusion. It's all hard work and diet my friend. I do share a bit about my thoughts on PEDs and other shortcuts here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqvOZ5qhbKqslbc

Thanks Jason! I feel when I get a good first kip it makes that second hard t2b easier thus getting that "rhythm" you talk about. Also, I think good shoulder mobility, being able to get your shoulders "through" is important too. This is one area I struggle with. And this is Kevin that you talked to last week. :)
@JasonGrubb3 жыл бұрын
Hey Kevin! Yup! Shoulder mobility is key... Mine isn't great, but good enough to create the strong kip.

What's the ideal grip stance? Froning suggested a slightly narrower one than C2B so you can pass through the shoulder a bit more?
@JasonGrubb2 жыл бұрын
Totally agree... I get a good kip at my end range with slightly narrower than C2B. Everyone is different. Test out different widths to see what is best for your shoulders!!

Jason thank you so much such a valuable information I’m still a beginner I don’t have a strong core I think is the reason why I’m still struggling to do toes to bar I’m progressing and getting there thank you! I’ll practice a lot!
@JasonGrubb2 жыл бұрын
You're welcome!!! In addition to core, this is a pulling movement... pulling down with your arms and lats!!
@yo-mu8nk2 жыл бұрын
@@JasonGrubb so basically pulling down with my arms and lats most important I honestly thought more flexibility on upper body and core I noticed I’m able to hang on longer I have been practicing hard one thing I had to do often before I start so many rounds of scapula pulls I never worked my upper body I’m in this CF journey 5 months now even though I have progressed a lot in a short amount of time I think I need more time to practice do correctly I find it hard to do a pull not sure bc im 5’10 and currently weigh 198lbs I have not developed much strength I did notice im able to do partial. Basically your saying do more pulling down with my arms?
@JasonGrubb2 жыл бұрын
@@yo-mu8nk More pulling.. and lots of patience!!!! We could probably get you a bit lighter in weight to help too. That's all on the nutrition side!!

@@JasonGrubb my weight goal is 165-170lbs since I have already lost 30lbs I’m currently 198lbs. Nutrition I’m still learning but I find it’s difficult to do I’m still learning I use the my fitness pal that helps.

Jason thanks for sharing! Noticed that you don’t wrap your thumb around bar. Do you do that with all rig movements?
@JasonGrubb3 жыл бұрын
Suicide grip for all movements (toes to bar, pull ups, muscle ups)... It's not the absolute safest, but it's the strongest position for my grip on big sets.

Nice video, I have a question for you Jason, I struggle a lot on TTB because my abs start burning (right at the middle of the six pack hehe) even though I have a good core strength, I kind of do the scoop technique that you mention because I don't have very good mobility to make a good arch to swing like you, I don't know if maybe that is making my abs fatigue fast on TTB?
@JasonGrubb2 жыл бұрын
Another way to think about toes to bar is to think about pulling the bar to your toes with your arms and chest (and lats)... it is a core exercise, but also a big chest and lat movement as well!!
@roderickjones74792 жыл бұрын
I can probably do 3 of these before I pass out but how many can you do from a 'dead' start without a swing? It's not a real criticism but you know what I'm getting at...some exercises have an assumed technique for example at my Thai boxing gym a new starter said that he could do 30 pull ups. We were impressed. When we found out it was the crossfire pull up we weren't as impressed. The good thing was that we used the crossfit pull up help increase our normal pull ups.
@JasonGrubb2 жыл бұрын
There are definitely different styles of toes to bar... kipping and strict. Both are great. Both are effective. Both are necessary. Strict... I can do about 15-20 without coming off the bar. Kipping, I can do around 40. Mostly the break comes because I just can't hang onto the bar longer!
@migueldiaz1122 Жыл бұрын
What was your process to being able to do pull ups?
@JasonGrubb Жыл бұрын
Good question man... I like to start with ring rows, then banded pull ups, then strict pull ups, then develop the kip for kipping and butterfly pull ups.

@@JasonGrubb Oh, don't get me wrong, I loooove crossfit. Specially when people go full seizure mode and pretend do to calisthenics. Jokes aside, I think crossfit is pretty neat and gets the "best" of every world possible, fitness-wise. The only problems are the cult-like aspect of it and the kipping which completely negates the proper form of bodyweight movements. If it wasn't for that It'd be almost perfect!
@Masheeable3 жыл бұрын
@@rappatenebrense You can "proper form" all you like when you're training in Crossfit!! During competition you only have to meet the requirements of the RULES, not your opinion. The cult-like aspect is entirely outside the sport, not in it.
