It was more than that, he choose (Grant that is) to come back to the Paranormal Field sfter being on #GhostHunters/Taps he left during season 8, But when the network asked Jason to do GhostHunters without the regular crew! All new people they wanted Jason to do it with, but Jason said No, because he said no, they went to Grant and said he can keep the name GhostHunters, but knowing Jason Started GhostHunters he should have known not to go there, he ran with it, but the show wasn't the same without Jason and the crew, Steve, Dave, Sheri, and when needed Amy, Adam, and My man Dustin Pari! BUT it was like Grant was stabbing Jason in the back!

Jason great video. You showed true professionalism in this video and great honest analysis. I know Jason from my few appearances on Ghost Hunters. The live show at Waverly Hills and the first hunt at Fort Delaware. I spent a ton of time with Jay, more than any other member, during my days with the crew. Here’s what I can tell you about Jay and the crew, including the production company. I was an active member of Law Enforcement at the time, criminal fugitive investigator, in Philadelphia. I lived and still live to investigate the truth no matter what!! When I arrived on the sets this was no different. Here’s what I learned. 1. The Taps teams 100% believed in what they were doing. They didn’t seem to care about being on tv. They all truly loved to investigate. 2. They were all friends and didn’t seem to really be onboard with NBC wanting outsiders on the crew. But even with that they welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like a member. 3. They set up their own equipment and double, triple check to make sure everything is on the up and up. 4. They would do a security check to make sure no one was around to play games. 5. Season 4 episode 13 was our investigation at Pea Patch Island. When we caught things this is what happened -Jay & Grant saw a body in the tunnels. They immediately did a roll call check to make sure no one was screwing around. Everyone was in the holding area. If it was faked, which I don’t believe it was, they went above and beyond to pull it off. -The team gathered afterwards to come up with any explanation on what it could’ve been other than a ghost. There wasn’t any explanation. It was in a tunnel with 1 way in and out -The same thing happened when we heard a massive bang. We did a role call checks and gathered to discuss -There was an incident on the second day where the producer from the network started screaming saying he saw a black shadow run across the court yard. Everyone was together in the holding area and no one else saw it. The team did go investigate but no one really believed him and thought maybe he was seeing things because it was 4am. 6. The team takes all the equipment and keeps it for review. Only a couple of the members review it all. Now I was only on 3 episodes technically but I was able to really get to know the people involved and here’s my opinion. They are still the only legit ghost hunters in the business. They went above and beyond to make sense of anything they found. If there was any nonsense I’d say it was network related. Jay said one thing to me that has stood with me to this day. He said “I’ve been investigating 19 years before starting on tv and will investigate after tv”. Did they enjoy the perks of being famous? Of course we all would. However I dont believe it turned them into fake hunters we see all over today. They are the real deal and until they say otherwise I will always look to them for the truth in Ghost Hunting Mark Fusetti

As someome who had watched from episode one, I fully agree with you. Jason and Grant never came off as showmen or attention hogs (unlike other shows at the time). Being that they are intelligent and skilled tradesmen, I feel like if they were going to fake anything, they would go to the trouble of doing something more elaborate and profound for ratings than just a wire within a hoodie. (Lol).

Attention all the other ghost hunting channels. THIS is a perfect example of how to answer criticism. Staying calm and respectful. Taking each point and either giving clear, concise explanations as to why you believe they are wrong or accepting that they have a point and being man enough to own up to a mistake or admit that a mistake may have been made if you can't say for sure either way. Apologising if you made a mistake or said something that has caused offence or been misunderstood because it could have been worded better. Reacting/responding a debunker in this way instead of having a fit, screaming, shouting, whinging and whining and throwing a temper tantrum in the debunkers comments with offensive and/or threatening messages gives you much more credibility and integrity. People are more likely to actually listen rather than dismissing you as behaving like an immature child which we see a lot of from certain channels and their fanbase. Reacting this way does Jason a lot of credit and will earn him respect on top of the credibility and integrity. Good job sir.

Ghost hunters always had such a down to earth feel. They all came off as good people and still do to this day, even now watching old episodes just feel good. I think what networks fail to understand today is that real fans enjoy both exciting episodes as well as the ones where it's just the crew doing the investigation. The other guys finding an army of demons every time they stop at a Starbucks just gets old and hurts the integrity of the profession. Jason and the team will always have my respect, they are pioneers in the field of televised paranormal investigations. Much love guys ❤️

Jason, I am glad you are open to discussing things this way. As a parent many of us understand that you are caught between a rock and a hard place. That being said, your daughter is still very young and prone to huge errors of judgment. Personally, I find the worst part of this situation to be the huge quantity of very young kids in Sam&Colby's audience who are affected by their Conjuring videos featuring your daughter and Cody. There are kids under ten who have lost (and are suffering tremendous grief over)a parent or sibling passing away. They expressed their deep sadness over not being able to meet your daughter and Cody to contact their loved ones. That is profoundly unethical. Of course no one should threaten anyone's life or engage in slurs- we have seen enough of that on our national stage, but in turn people should put honesty in the world as much as possible. I think you should probably get in touch with Sam and Colby as well- they too need to rectify the situation.

For those of us who are searching for genuine evidence of the paranormal, these kinds of conversations are so important. Genuine investigators and debunkers are, generally, on the same team, so the 'us against them' narrative is not only nonsensical but also inherently damaging to the overall search for understanding. We need to work together. So thank you, Jason and Beardo, for opening up the dialogue and doing so in a respectful manner. ❤

This was a great video! I use to watch your show with my grandpa when I was little and it was something he loved a lot. He passed last year and so getting to watch the show brings back some really nice memories and I'm glad to see that you guys are still doing your thing! The only thing I would say about the whole coat pull thing is I trust your instincts. You knew him for such a long time that it didn't seem like something he would do. However when I heard you say that he accepted another tv show without you guys after you guys refused the same deal and it broke that bond you guys had... it kinda made me think that if he was willing to do that which caught you off guard (especially because he didn't let you guys know!) then maybe the coat pull thing isn't so crazy to believe that maybe he did do it. idk just had that thought pop in my head when watching the end of the video. Regardless of what happened or anything negative just know that you guys provided a show that a lot of people loved and still love and it was something that friends and family members bonded over. I still have voicemails on my phone from my grandpa that I just cant bring myself to delete and its him telling me about a new episode coming out 💜

I cannot tell you how glad I am to find this video. I was a very big fan of T.A.P.S because of the level headed way you guys investigated. It's important to debunk whenever you can. Back in the day your team was the only one (at least that I could find) that approached the paranormal with that mindset. And Beardo is right... you taught a lot of us how to look at whatever activity is happening with an objective eye. To question. So when all this stuff about the hood tug surfaced I was disappointed not knowing what to think. And honestly, as far as that incident goes, there are still doubts in my mind. But seeing you talk so candidly here makes me have a lot of respect for you and what you do. Feeling that again is very relieving for me because T.A.P.S. showed me that there was a way to investigate...even if you're a skeptic. Thank you for continuing to be open and honest.

I appreciate you doing this Jason! I was a loyal GH viewer, my wife and I watched religiously. But not only did I watch, but I was on the TAPS forums every day, and I really miss them. There was never a better group of honorable folks on a forum. If they felt something was real, they proved why they thought it was real, and vice versa. And they hated to do it, but they solidly debunked Grant’s collar pull. But that’s the kinda people they were, the truth, no matter how painful, was the goal. Their debunks predated KZbin to a degree, so everything they were doing involved videos (of course), well thought out picture diagrams, and collaborations with the best and most objective debunkers on the site…it wasn’t quite as easy to host a video back then as it is today, but there were still plenty of options available at the time. And their debunk was nonpartisan, and thorough. In my opinion there’s no doubt about it, that was deceitful on Grant’s behalf…and it broke me. I viciously defended TAPS over every other group out there, and I felt let down. Though I never doubted you, Jason. You have always seemed to be a standup, no nonsense guy, and I understand you were put in an uncomfortable situation. And because of your character, you’re still treading lightly with your words 15 years later. I appreciate you taking the time to finally address this, and I’m pleased with what you had to say. I don’t think any of us viewers expected you to come on here and air yours and Grant’s dirty laundry, but understand we appreciate what you have shared with us. And as far as I’m concerned, you don’t have to address this ever again. Thank you!

I'm still kinda on the fence about that spot. The stories go back a long way, so there might be some credibility to them, and I don't blame them for setting up those gizmos and gadgets to capitalize on those stories. That being said, they did themselves a HUGE disservice by not disclosing them to the guys before they started their investigation. Like, what did they think was going to happen? That the team that makes their living disproving hauntings wasn't going to find out that they're faking it?

@@stacyk123the trouble is, it’s now difficult to believe any claims made about the place. And when your busy chasing set up gizmos, your not invested in the actual ghost hunting. Things will simply get missed or ignored. It was a very silly thing for the owners to have done.

Yeah, I remember that place they went to on the West coast. Another episode was a bar/hotel in New Orleans... and they were having a party and they couldn't do or catch ANYTHING because of the noise! And the host/owner of the place was...a bit...TOO happy they were there. It all just seemed like just a big publicity stunt for the place. Then after the episode AIRED, (not sure when they recorded it...) Hurricane Katrina went through there! NEVER forgot that.

What you are implying is that you know each person involved, both on and off camera and you will blindly accept whatever is presented. Sometimes an explanation IS needed. Even Jason addressed this issue, you always have to be sceptical, even if you actually know everyone involved. Jason was willing to speak out and face this issue and for that his credibility has shot upward. That is not to give him a free pass, nor do I think he wants a free pass. The trick to looking at something unseen and deciding it's authenticity is to forget about who is presenting the evidence and simply see if that evidence can be duplicated by others, then you will more than likely have the truth.

Jason, I've always respected you and your team, and your methods going into an investigation. I've watched you from the beginning of Ghost Hunters. Credibility in this business is everything. I used to investigate off and on, but lately I've kind of lost the taste for it with everything going on in the paranormal community. There's a lot of people bashing others, a lot of fakes popping up on youtube and the like. Seems like more and more people are in it for their own amusement rather than for the research, the science, the proof for or against. I'm glad that through all of that there's at least one team out there doing it for the right reasons, and doing it with honesty and integrity. Thanks for that. You didn't start paranormal investigations, but you started the craze that swept around the world, and inspired others, like myself, to want to do this too.

I have compassion for his daughter because she was clearly trying to survive in a toxic work environment. 👻

You (and TAPS) have always been the example I cite when I talk about CREDIBLE paranormal investigators on television because of your critical thinking, refusal to use highly speculative novelty devices, attention to detail, and especially your debunking. Which is why I was very disappointed when I saw your initial reaction to that controversy when it first came to light. I felt as though you lost a bit of credibility, and it felt as though it dragged mine down a bit as well, since I've always touted you guys. But I gotta say, this video is genuine, respectful, honest, sincere, and classy. I can absolutely appreciate your point of view and even though I'm not a "debunker", I have always stated that debunking is a fundamental and critical aspect of paranormal investigation, which I always encourage when I submit our "evidence" for peer review. And because of that, I feel connected to the debunking community and I completely agree, that you are definitely a fellow debunker. Great video, Jason. Credibility = restored 💯

In the same ep (I think) there was also a clearly recorded voice that said something like "You're not supposed to be here" and then repeated. Grant reacted to it as though it were real. In another ep, there was vid of Grant sitting in a wooden chair in a small space, possibly an attic, Grant leaving the space and the chair moving slightly after he was gone. It was so obviously a deliberate set-up that I was annoyed by it. Grant seemed to be going through an amature magician phase that unfortunately cast the whole show in a bad light.

Great video, Jay!! I am a 'from episode 1 watcher' and I was on the edge of my seat when the part about the hood pull was on. I watched your face and reactions so closely and tried to see your emotions as you watched and I just kept thinking..."Please don't say it WAS what happened and Grant 'pulled' the wool over our eyes!!!" lol I always thought so highly of you and of Grant and always loved the debunking because it kept it real. So when that happened...I was watching the live and was blown away and it wasn't until some chatter in the TAPS forum, that got me wondering...'Wait...did he do that??? No...not Grant. Never.' lol But that died down and I never waivered in my watching or love of GH/TAPS and you all. But then....Grant left and I thought it would never be the same for me. It was different, yes, but again, I still faithfully watched because I love yas all and always have...'so yeah Grant left, but he's one person of that TEAM' and I adjusted to him not being on the show anymore and believed the things I'd heard about him just needing more family time-as the reason he left. Which was also fine if that was the reason. Life moved on, you all moved on and I moved right on with yas. lol But then...then he did the reboot and it was called 'Ghost Hunters' and I was like..."Wait...what? I thought he needed more family time and less travel???" I tuned in anyway and I tried to like it...tried to look forward to it like I did every episode of GH for all those years. I watched many episodes at the same timeframe, watching you guys on the new show as well. I found I still tuned into and looked forward to YOU GUYS and knew it wasn't what it was named...it wasn't GHOST HUNTERS, as the reason I tuned in and watched all those years. It was because of TAPS...the TEAM of you guys, who stuck together and stuck it out and here yas are still today and while I love that you got the GH name back...TAPS was always there, wherever you guys went, on whatever channel, whatever it was called...it was about the TEAM and while I loved Grant and still wish him well...there was no I in TEAM for you all, at least and you all proved that by being given back the title of GH, while never losing the TEAM. I love yas and I am a faithful 'fan' since then and for as long as it lives on...and even beyond. lol Thank you, Jay for always keeping it REAL!!! Yours is the only paranormal show that I stuck with and still watch! 🥰👻🤍 You guys ARE the GOAT!! ❤

I appreciate your addressing issues/concerns raised from the paranormal community. We have so much respect for you and the GH team. It was important to me about how certain episodes were aired and others were not (Ive read both your and Grant's books) and now realize you have no control over that. Would it be true to say you have no control over what content from your investigation is shared? Your and GW integrity shines through in your books as well. I do miss GW being with the team, I feel you both are like a lighthouse to ghosts, thus more interaction and evidence captured. Thank you again for your work in the paranormal, it's been personally important to me as I dont feel like I'm crazy when I've experienced paranormal activity. IMO GW made a mistake doing the reboot without the team and it's understandable there were hard feelings over it. I'm sorry that some people decided to make personal attacks against your daughter and her husband during this controversy. That is never ok, and I believe you when you say it did happen because unfortunately there are always at least a few toxic people in all communities. Fortunately, the most of the debunking community are great people who can respectfully argue their points with facts and not insults. I'm glad you made this response, you have definitely earned my respect, and I can completely understand your position on these subjects. The video before this one put me off, but as a parent I understand it came from a place of wanting to defend and protect your daughter. Thank you for responding because I was crushed thinking you weren't the person I thought you were and that everything was a lie. Its nice to know that isn't the case. Now, I have to say, in my opinion I think you and your daughter have been decieved by Cody. The fact that he was doing that method years before he met Satori, and claims it was only discovered when they met is fishy. But I don't think that you or your daughter are in on it. And again, that's just my opinion.

I even bought equipment to record voices and to check EMF/ELF. Voices would whisper to me in bed (the scariest thing I have ever experienced, literally scared stiff), creaking heavy footsteps, shadows zipping about and my voice calling to my mum when I was miles away at work and dad being awoken by the voice of his childhood friend. So many EVPs. I remember watching the jacket pull and I could see how you were so sceptical, it was there on your face. I still loved watching the show and it made me more observant for trickery so that is a positive. Much Love from the land down under!

I doubted and still doubt many others out there but never yours. Because you never gave me reasons to doubt you. I am a healthy skeptic but also a believer due to my own experiences. As far as the jacket thing at the live show I am left scratching my head. I don’t know what to think. I would hope Grant would never do something like that. But it is questionable. Also thank you for clearing up what happened between you and Grant. I have always wondered what happened but I respected the fact that you kept it out of the spotlight. And now finally saying what happened, I think you did it with the upmost integrity. I have always had respect for you and your team and still do. Thank you for making the paranormal less scary for people like me that have had experiences my whole life. Hats off to you and looking forward to more episodes. On to the next…..
