I'm doing a little catch-up today, Jason. I always like to manage some time to come over and see more of your beautiful work.

Never would have thought that cherry and oak would go together but they certainly do. Beautiful piece, Jason!

Thank you! I thought the final colors would go well together and they did! The cherry is wonderful to work with and feels great all sanded!

Another BEAUTIFUL piece Jason. A different approach to pining a topper on to a cane. I’m going to give it a shot with different woods. Thanks again for the inspiration.🇨🇦😊👍🏻

From sticks to canes, wands next ? (I'm joking) Beautiful cane though.
@JasonHedrichАй бұрын
I've thought about wands... they would be easier to ship! But maybe I'll give one a try soon. Glad you liked this one, I'm happy how this turned out

Nice. I'm searching the 'tube for inspiration, I have an 1.25" square oak stair rod left over from a job, and a Mum that sometimes uses a stick due to arthritis (she's 80) the obvious outcome will be some sort of cane or walking stick. I like what you've done here, I'm just wondering if oak would be too heavy as she also has arthritis in her hands and her grip isn't what it used to be. I'll keep pondering...

@@DavesRabbitHole that’s great! The main part of this cane is oak and once trimmed down, it’s a light stick. Nice and strong too. I think it’ll turn out great, let me know what you end up doing
@DavesRabbitHole14 күн бұрын
@ well since my last comment I turned it into a cane, but it’s quite stout and actually looks more like a longer thinner baseball bat, or a slightly thicker pool queue 😂. It’s probably better suited as a Gangs of New York prop. I’ve put a copper end on it, when the epoxy has cured I may try and ebonize it and add some finish. Maybe I’ll put a bunch of rusty nails through the end 😳
