When folding any cardboard, I prefer to use a rollerball pen, without ink, completely dry, to crease without the risk of cutting the cardboard by mistake. I have pens, no ink, fine, medium and thick, one for each type of crease. The paper is well marked and is easier to fold. congratulations for the beautiful work

Jason, Thank you again for sharing a wonderful kit bashed, and scratch built structure. It would be great for you to share some scratch build secrets and tips. Keep up the great videos, I am sure we all love them. Take care in the heat, on our news this morning, they reported that western USA was suffering a really bad heat wave, with bush fires (sorry, wild fires) in some states. Keep safe and cool. Fantastic video, looking forward to seeing the cobble roads, have them in abundance the length and breadth of the UK, every city and town has cobbled alleyways especially behind terrace street. There's one right behind where I live and something to note for the effect you may wish to add to your mean streets. Behind the alleyway was covered over in tarmac many years ago but has long since weathered, broken up by winter rain and ice, potholes everywhere exposing the cobbles underneath, with broken drainage right down the centre. As always thanks for sharing.

@@JasonJensenTrains your the reason I been trying my had at scratch building. I bought a few kits. They were costly, found where to get the materials. Now I'm scratch building, I'm not as good of a builder as you. I'll get there eventually.... here's a funny, I tried to build a newly built Dog Trot Cabin. I weathered it to look all beat up and old, what the hell I was going for new freshly built cabin..... sigh.

Ha ha - up until you mentioned the types of signs I thought the smoke shop was smoking meat and fish!!! ;-) If I understand your scratch building thought process to be anything like mine, it's no wonder you jump about in the video! Great stuff as usual.
@2H80vids3 жыл бұрын
Haha, me too. I thought the basement was curing meat. I would be calling it a tobacconist's but that's the beauty of the 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑𝑤𝑖𝑑𝑒 web, different names for stuff in different places. Was it George Bernard Shaw who said that the UK and the US were "separated by a common language"? Whatever we call it, it's another beautiful model Jason. Something I've wondered about: Did you start building the layout because of the F.S.M. range of kits, or is Doug producing kits to suit your layout? Whichever came first, I hope you've got that room well-insured. At a few hundred dollars per building, that's a valuable layout. I would imagine that, with most layouts, the high value kit is the rolling stock/locomotive fleet. With this masterpiece, the stock is insignificant, compared to the infrastructure of the layout. Regardless of the value, it's going to be one of the most impressive layouts out there - absolutely world class.👍👌😁 Cheers for now, Dougie.

With all the structures you have built adding your own style and creativeness to them its time for JJCK’s. I believe you would have many unique designs and buyers to support those designs. If you ever light your buildings the bar, with its nice big windows, is perfect for a detailed interior. However it is kind of far back and the deck hides it some. Still, i would like to see you do an interior for something.

What is the difference between the dry-brush paint and the others? Thicker?? On a side note, I'm still hoping I can talk you into a short tutorial on how to resize your signs. I may be over complicating it, but mine lose quality when I reduce them and become too blurry to use. Thanks ~Dennis

I have a question for you. As far as I can tell, you are the only person on KZbin building an old fishing village/Warf scene for your layout. Do you have any intention of linking the actual railroad to the water front? Like a railroad dock or something like that?
