Makes me think of the first road trip my husband and I took and feeling heartbreak knowing we were on our way home away from each other. I wanted him to drive slower and to hit traffic because I wanted to spend more time with him. Two weeks later we spoke about hating sleeping away from each other and that’s when we decided to move in together. 7 years, one dog, and 2 kids later we still love sleeping next to each other. ❤️

A couple of weeks ago I was driving home (the Netherlands) from our holiday (Italy) and on our way (Germany mostly) everything happened, from traffic jams to an exploded tyre (ours) on the motorway. We reached the Netherlands around midnight and I was exausted, what with being up and driving from an early hour, the children in the back seats chatting and singing and crying and sleeping, it was dark and we only could listen to silly children's songs. In my mind I kept playing this song, and a Long Drive it turned out to be! We reached home at 2:30 am. I felt blessed, despite everything, because I was with my family (dog included), and even if I would have preferred not to have taken the long road, I was glad I had those I love all with me. Only the cat was missing, for he was snoozing comfortably at my mum's house. :-)

yep that is how it feels when you are with someone you love. I felt that way on the ride home from work in northern Indiana once, but he said if he came in it would only make him mad. I knew he had a relationship already I could not compete with. Sigh. I am so glad he was honest and faithful to her. Truly I did not want that ride to end. It was the only time we were alone together... this song expresses it perfectly. Great plug for car industry, too.
