Beautiful way to work a system without tank drilling
@JasonsCichlids3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Trent, my other tanks are drilled so this hopefully gives some alternative solutions.

👍👍 Smart work from design to install ... Your going to save yourself hours each week now for new tanks 😁 Well done Mate

Cheers for that mate, been a bit of time spent on this from planning to implementation!

Thanks a lot for that Patick much appreciated mate!

Looking really good Jason. Hope it works out great. It will save you hours of work. Will you need to put an air breather tube in above water level to speed up emptying and to avoid air locks? Hope you can show us the system working. 👍😊

Cheers Paul. It really will save so much time each week. I don't believe so no. There is so much pressure from the top row of tanks draining out that all the air is pushed out of the system with the syphon.

One word: BRILLIANT. Awsome job, really. I noticed, only now, that the tanks supports are made of wood. What kind of wood is it?

So are you an engineer by trade?? Such fantastic derails! I do my water changes with hoses to fill and manually siphoning, of course it’s only 17 tanks set up in my fishroom. I’m not very handy when it comes to this sort of operation , I wish I was. Too bad you weren’t in america I’d pay well to have this done!!👍🏻🙂

Details
@JasonsCichlids3 жыл бұрын
Haha no I'm not but I am glad you appreciate the details. If had the room in the fish room and could move the fish out, I would drill them and connect them to a central sump. I feel in the long run it's much easier to maintain. But this has been an interesting learning experience. Haha I wish I could help you but, hopefully this series will give you some confidence to try it. It really isn't too difficult. ✌✌

Super water change system, do you plan to use a pump to fast drain the water?
@JasonsCichlids3 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate, no pump needed to drain them, they'll all drain via a syphon. And then a pump is used to pump water back into the tanks. Pumping the water back into the system via the same lines primes the syphon for the next water change.

Hmm, I am so tempted to use a pump to drain the water

Also I am curious to know how you will handle air locks in the system
@JasonsCichlids3 жыл бұрын
Provided you don't break the syphon once its held in place, there are no airlocks

Where did you buy the irrigation tubing and parts?
@JasonsCichlids3 жыл бұрын
Bunnings for some parts and an irrigation store for others
