Great idea for saving time.. and that pipe is a little bit flexible if things need to be moved. If it was me though who's super pedantic I might use like 15 or 20mm pressure pipe, maybe paint it black and make it super neat and hidden, but the cost is wayyyyyyy more, especially those valves. Might also consider 1 cheap pump somewhere at the end to get the syphon back anytime without having to stress.

Great work mate. I have been planning something similar but with a connection on the "high" end for filling. This is mainly for my cory breeding rack so mixing water isn't a problem. It would also start a siphon if needed.

Blake don’t forget you could also connect it to a hose and fill the tube system slightly and then let it back drain to redraw the siphon

Any plumbing project is good for at least three trips to the home center. 🙂 So I'm guessing you use the garden hose to refill each tank? If that's the case, what I've done is to attach a female hose connector to the end of the drain line rig and refill right back through the drain system. That'll also recharge any drain lines that may have gone dry during the draining process. And then I just go round dosing the dechlor from tank to tank. All in all, this is a freakin' great idea, Blake! Well told. Cheers! ~Ron

I have got 80 tanks, so i guess it gonna get pretty expensive😅 But i actually think, that i would go with this system 🤔 Now its all about, where to buy all fittings cheapest . And figure out, how it will be done in my 2 fish rooms . Thanks for the idea👌 Ive already start thinking about it 😊 Hello from Denmark

Nice one thats excellent advice. Really good setup. I know you mentioned something about an irrigation store but were you able to obtain most of the fittings from Bunnings? The hose connecting to the poly pipe alone will be a good improvement once the poly pipe is set in place.

Just a quick note for everyone - be careful of what irrigation/PVC pipe you use - some contain an anti microbial coating, as Serpa Designs pointed out in a video recently.

@@BlakesAquatics it’s usually more expensive so not an issue for those of us looking to do it most cost effectively, BUT on the off chance someone “spends a little extra” on a certain pipe in the hopes of longevity, you might be paying extra for the wrong type of pipe.. I’ll find the video and give a time stamp for reference. Love your work, Blake ✌️ & ❤️

Could you get away with one on off valve and the end of a run of tanks?
@nath92335 ай бұрын
You'd be losing the syphon on a heap of tanks every time as they won't all drain exactly the same time I would imagine.
