Saw this years ago and was glad it came across my recommendations again. I can't believe I hadn't faved it before! It's an awesome piece, both musically and visually. It always makes me laugh when the spider starts beating his abdomen to make the drum sound. I suppose you could call it a "butt-kick drum". Ahh, the things musicians will do for their art!

Very great music and creativity, my only real criticism would be theres no theme with the set up, comparing it a bit with animusic, they would have one theme, if marbles bouncing was on an instrument, theyd be whats doing all or most of the instruments, or if it was a light spectacle, all the instruments would reflect that. The spider on its web and being a nature scene was a good idea, i think it look better if the rest of the pieces fit with nature as well, instead it looks more like theyre pieces of different styles stuck together, but minor criticism, overall very pleasing to watch and listen to.

JasonWardStudios One tip (albeit from someone with only a basic knowledge of computer animation): the balls on the pipe xylophone contraption are going too slow, as if they were in low gravity, and they don't give the illusion of inertia. They look as though (which they probably are) moving along a pre-defined path rather than actually "bouncing" off of the surfaces. Maybe film some marbles being dropped onto different surfaces and watch the footage in slow-motion to get a better idea for it? At any rate, great job; I really enjoyed it.

A good attempt to get into Animusic's footsteps, though I must say that Animusic is a bit smoother in some parts, especially the pipes spewing balls. The music also gets a bit repetitive and that's a pity as it's a very good track to begin with. But the base is there to get something great. And with some improvements Animusic might get a true rival on this field :)
@arkenstoner131310 жыл бұрын
Ehh i liked this actually more then I actually liked most of animusic's stuff.. not to say i dont like Animusic.. But even the repetitiveness really isnt that bad... yes they could have switched it up a little, but all songs are repetative.. If you watch the video the whole time yeah it blows.. but I was doing other stuff and not watching and I actually started to keep time... ya know.. unce unce unce unce :) haha
@protoborg5 жыл бұрын
Animusic doesn't animate their videos then add music. Rather they render TO the music using a proprietary program they developed for that purpose.
@JasonWardStudios5 жыл бұрын
@@protoborg That is indeed precisely how this was done, in the same fashion. A MIDI file of the music was used to trigger each and every IPo in Blender via a special customized Python script, synchronizing it perfectly to each note, and thus allowing me to create a long video. Believe, I would have no patience to key frame each and every one of those animations! If there is any sloppiness in the synchronization, it's my bad for not creating better IPo's to start with. =)
@protoborg5 жыл бұрын
@@JasonWardStudios I'm not certain what an IPo is, but I think you misunderstood what I was saying. Animusic does not have prerendered objects that are animated via a script. The musical instruments are created on the fly BY the music engine they use.
@JasonWardStudios5 жыл бұрын
@@protoborg It's an an animation sequence. Nothing is pre-rendered here either. If I had a proper animation engine, It would go on the fly too. Unfortunately, Blender 2.49b's Open GL engine is pretty weak, so I had to render to make it look good. I'm pretty sure Wayne & team have to render too. I know that Pipe Dream was released an ATI Radeon special feature, but of course that is all pre-defined too.
@JasonWardStudios11 жыл бұрын
