This home is my ideal. I like the angles and many windows. I would prefer continuing the existing hardwood instead of the black and white flooring. I’m also tempted to turn the upstairs bath into an ensuite. The two tone kitchen is perfect and I could spend hours in that two storey sitting room! A great forever home!

CHEERS on using a wood stove!!! Today the come in colors especially the Vermont Castings porcelain one and are extremely efficient in heating an entire floor especially with high ceilings! Kudos!@

Beautiful home! Is the parking area on a slab? I would enclose it and make a garage out of it for 1 car and storage for lawn care items and hubby’s tools! Otherwise, it’s the perfect home for us!

I like the entry at the back of the house, and there's space to insert a coat closet and bench. The faux chimneys at the front and rear add to the exterior appearance but otherwise have no function, while the faux fireplace with its woodstove in the living room has no chimney! The generous pantry and laundry room are useful. The downstairs bedroom has space for a large wardrobe. I like the upstairs bedroom access to the balconies, though not recommended for small children. A skylight over a bed is not good for late risers. ;-) The office could be set up as an additional bedroom or as a media room. This house has ample opportunities for customizing!

Sweetie, there are shutters for that kind of windows that you could close if you wanna sleep late!! Simple, no? There is room for changes, like layout and others. Also what safety concers on the balconies, like you could close them of one way or another. Their is possibility for change!! Love from Pinkie.

Congratulations, Jasper! You hit this one out of the park. Main entry with a proper vestibule: A Plus. Properly laid out and functional kitchen: A Plus. Proper and adequate dining area: A Plus. Efficient use of space: A Plus. From an aesthetic point of view I love the look of the massive stone triple flue chimneys. It appears that they only serve as decoration. I also did not see a chimney for the wood burner in the living room. Minor issue. However, with that big hunk of masonry between the dining and living area, an opportunity was missed. That chimney would be the perfect place for an outside kitchen with a barbeque grille. It could be charcoal or gas fired, and a flue built into the chimney structure. Overall this is a beautiful house inside and out. One safety concern, however, is the balcony railings. In many places balcony railings must not have horizontal members that a child can climb. Smooth or vertical only, with a railing on top. With the design of this house I can see tempered glass panels set into wood frames on the balconies. That would actually improve the view out as well as being safer. On a practical note, the car port needs a bit of a rethink. In this day and age, families often have more than 2 cars, and each needs to have immediate accessibility. Having to move one car to get the other out is a pain in the backside. Also, the car parking is on the opposite side of the house from the kitchen. It would be good if there was a way to park closer to a direct door into the kitchen or pantry.

OMG, a hall, this makes me so happy, thanks so much dear!!! There is so much lost space underneath the stairs, what to do there, in that nook? The interior, floors etc are your own choice when you would build this house and you can choose the layout of the rooms too I suppose? What I would change: I would swap the kitchen with the living area (no fireplace cause central heating) and I would not even mind that the stairs are in the kitchen. I want only a toilet with lavabo downstairs instead of a full bathroom, thus you get a bigger pantry!! And sliding doors everywhere!!! (space saver) The downstairs bedroom would become an office for the son, lots of light and a nice window to look outside while he is thinking about what the next sentence must become haha. It will give him tons of inspiration. And the upstairs office would become a game room with TV and PC for the son (29) and me (almost 65), ROFL! No TV or PC in the bedrooms, never! Those are huge sleep disruptors!! The bath in the bathroom would become a large shower! But these are personal choices and can be done whit help of somebody or maybe even Jasper? You can only ask him if you want this house a bit tweeked ;-) Thanks to the magic of Jasper!! Way to go sweet Jasper!!!!! LOve from Pinkie

I adore this house! I love all the windows, skylights, patios, and balconies. It's giving Pacific Northwest vibes, and I love it. The railings need to be more child safe, though. I might consider putting the carport on the other side and replacing the laundry room window with a door. I realize this would cause the kitchen window to face into the carport, but I think it would be worth it to have a way to get into the house from the car without stepping out into the rain (especially if it really is tge Pacific Northwest, ha).

1-Enclosed storage under stairs, 2-microwave/exhaust over stove, 3-Murphy Bed/storage unit in study instead of bookcase, 4-pocket door for upstairs bedroom, 5-shower stall in upstairs bathroom, & 6-unified wood flooring throughout (especially in public spaces; importantly in small houses).
