Great job!! I was thinking back to the beginning, and all of the good times that I had even though I started thinking that I had a good understanding of what I would need to buy for the 1st aquascape that quickly turned out to be a mess and exactly what I needed. I'm sure it's from seeing so many examples that are everywhere if you know where to look and I definitely looked whenever I could hoping to get some secret or whatever I can come away with because looking back to the beginning I was just cluelss and then having a hard time getting the information to grow the plants that I just got from the LFS . it's been awhile since I have humbled myself but I'm still as determined to get better at growing and getting the best plants too !!!

Great video. I am in the process of scaping a 155 litre tank so will be planting a few of these plants.

Cheers mate, yea thats a great size for both options :)

Thanks, I have none of this in my tank. Now I'm leaning towards Java Fern because its a water feeder & doesnt need a substrate. And please make video about the overrated, overpriced, redundant & subjective Bucephalandra vs OG Anubias.

Cheers mate, haha, i'm actually working on the script for that very video this coming weekend, video should be online early next month :)

@@GlassBoxDiaries Good to hear, it always bug me why some people treated it with such reverence.

Here in the states I have really soft water. I setup a 40 gallon (151.416 liters) breeder as a plant testing tank to what grows good in my water. Amazon swords grow really good with inert sand. I can't keep java ferns alive for some reason.

It's a shame, I have seen other people say similar stuff too.

Great content and I love both why pick one 😂

Cheers mate, yea i'm the same, I love both, plan to continue to keep both in future tanks :)

For me, its all about the swords, unless youve got Bristlenose Plecos - they love to eat echnidoras plants
@GlassBoxDiaries2 ай бұрын
Yea one of my friends is into Bristlenose Plecos and one of them eats all his sword plant leaves but the other just leaves them alone.

Cheers mate, I'm actually Mackem from Sunderland so Red and White are my cities colors but by chance, the next tank I have planned is a black and white one for White Snowball shrimp with black lava rock and black gravel :)
@qamta50652 ай бұрын
@@GlassBoxDiaries Sounds like a good combination. The white snowball 🦐 will really pop against the black. Apologies, I know all about The Black Cats 🐈⬛ 🐈⬛ spent a brief period of time between Gateshead and Sunderland. And I learnt you lads are serious when it comes to the boozer 🍻lol. Also, do you think it’s a viable option to keep your trimmings in a Ziploc bag with a small bit of tank water if you don’t have the space to continuously replant?
@GlassBoxDiaries2 ай бұрын
@@qamta5065 No worries mate :). Emm, it could work, can you not get one of the small plastic storage box totes? I use one as a holding tank for plants/quarantine tank for fish, for quite the collection in there now.
@qamta50652 ай бұрын
@@GlassBoxDiaries I was thinking more once they’re in the Ziploc bag to put them out in my garden and let the light penetrate through the bag hopefully seeing more growth. To be completely honest, my major concern is realistically how long I have before the nutrients in the bag are likely to be used up? Definitely could do the totes method however I’m limited in space. I’m gonna give it a go this weekend and I’m hypothesising that I’ll end up with amazing new plants or a bag of sludge 🪴
@GlassBoxDiaries2 ай бұрын
@@qamta5065 Nutrient usage would depend on growth rate so it would be different for each type of plant.
