Several times Israel tried to give West Bank to the Palestinians in exchange for permanent peace, but the Palestinians didn't want it. In 2005 the Oslo Accords gave Area C to Israel. Yasser Arafat and his Palestinians signed this agreement. It wasn't a land grab. Israel annexed East Jerusalem. Maybe that is what you are concerned about? The USA recognizes Israel's claim to East Jerusalem. The Palestinians can't provide civil services there anyway.

It is not as simple as that, Palestinians are not innocen. Do you think they are meek and gentle and law abiding? Do you know what happened in Jordan and Lebanon and how many they killed. They tried to take over those countries too. On 24 August 1929, Hebron, in what was then British Mandatory Palestine, witnessed the massacre of 67 Jews at the hands of local Arab-Palestinians. Every country in the middle east are sceptical about having Palestinians in their land - for fear of terrorism and coups by their terrorist factions. However, all middle eastern countries seem also to have many terrorist factions and as a Western country you have to protect yourself from their infiltration. otherwise you have another Syria or Yemen. Yes, the settlers are wrong and most people in Israel condemn this practice actually. However, you cannot leave Palestinians to roam freely either because of their history in Jordan and Lebanon and because of suicide bombs and killings they propogated over the last 75 years. Now the 75 years is a different story.. but my point is this.. Palestinians are not innocent.

It's like they are wannabe settlers but so far they've been allowed to park a caravan or build a shack on a particular bit of land by the govt and now they are trying to earn their brownie points by conducting as many attacks as they can on Palestinians to drive them out. My mom passed away a few months ago and I was reminded lately of the talks we had together with her little boy promising ger a trip to Bethlehem .
