Javea / Xabia enjoying the sun between the sea and the medieval town

In our tour of the Costa Blanca of Alicante we visit Javea, linked to the sea for centuries through the different cultures that have inhabited this beautiful place. We head first to Playa del Arenal, where both in the far north and in the south we find vestiges of the Roman era such as the Acequia de la Noria, excavated in the rock and feeding the salines of the interior, or the Clot de la Reina, which was part of a fish salad factory. We also take advantage to enjoy a walk through this fine sandy beach, under an excellent climate in December specific to this area. Then we move to the harbour where we stroll through the neighborhood with a strong marine character and where the Church of Our Lady of Loreto stands out, with a spectacular and modern appearance, but sober and even more beautiful inside. We took advantage of the afternoon in the harbour to enjoy a beautiful sunset, and the next day we moved to the Medieval Villa. In the center of the Villa, the Plaza de la Iglesia, where a Christmas market is being celebrated, in addition to the Town Hall you will see the Church of San Cristóbal, with features of fortress to defend against the attacks of pirates and corsaries. From here we get lost in its narrow streets with beautiful houses houses that were the property of the old rich bourgeoisie arisen mainly by the export of grape passes. Walking through the streets we find, among others, the Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum, the reconstruction of the ancient medieval walls, the Municipal Market or a Riurau, construction intended for the drying of the grapes. We conclude the visit to Javea from the Cape of San Antonio, from where we will have a spectacular view of the Costa Blanca and the beautiful bay of Jabea.
