@shayZero lots of stuff that Hollywood would like to get hold of especially when it comes to special ops and intelligence gathering but ask any submariner and he will tell you it was what was the not knowing what was going on back at home any bad news would not be told to any crew member until the submarine was on the surface in range of a helicopter to fly the crew member off we had a chef on board who's entire family was killed in a home gas explosion no point in telling anyone bad news it would be mental torture at being so helpless miles away for weeks on end on a brighter note when i a submarine visits a foreign or homeport the crew are put up in hotels and paid subsistence as the accommodation is seen as unfit when alongside I remember being put in a five star hotel in Casablanca with its own nightclub as all the cheap hotels were full tourists all the best

Being a member of the 5th Brigade in 1982. I sailed to the Falklands, in style. On the QE2. Didn't see much of 3 CDO Brigade Matt (northern route to Stanley). I left the Falklands job done. And hating Argentineans. I stand corrected. I'm quite warming to this guy (note I deleted Argie). 🇦🇺 🇫🇴
