I feel like a mist/fog sprayer would be a nice quality of life addition for these systems, just to knock the dust down, but not enough to saturate the material.

you beat me to it mate 1000s of Aussies are dying of silicosis from cutting kitchen benches all fake stone is now banned in Aussie to much dust on that machine mate well done and you don't know how much silicone is in those rocks its like smoking 100 cigs a day

It would just make more sense to me if you could find a way to run the hopper vibrate off the Perkins diesel instead of having to purchase a second generator to run one machine. Just my thoughts.

I own a Jaques 18 x 16 inch jaw crushers built in the 1930's in Australia, hardest part to replace is wear plates, but it runs like clockwork and puts any of its modern rivals to shame , crushes down to 6mm sized aggregate.

As someone who serviced portable Metso rock crushers, I can tell you that asphalt is one of the most abrasive, wearing materials a crusher can process. One of our rental customers did nothing but asphalt and I serviced that machine WAY more than I would have liked. They weren't the most pleasant people to work for.
@TalRohan3 сағат бұрын
Asphalt in the UK is based on very small granite aggregate so the crusher has to break the tar part of the asphalt more than the stone but the stone will work just like huge quartz based sandpaper I assume most countries would use something similar,

@10:02 - Also, manganese jaws work-harden as they are used which also varies the amount of time they may last.
@davidanalyst67117 сағат бұрын
that asphalt is worth a good amount of money. I know the asphalt companies will tell you its garbage, and dump it in a hole inn the ground, but Dirt Perfect on youtube bought a couple truck loads, and spread it over his driveway, and rolled it down, and its lasted over a year now with no patches.

I live on a "difficult" dirt road. Hills, washes, etc. Crushed asphalt didn't make it perfect, but the contrast to "base material" has helped.

One of the most mesmerizing things to watch is material flowing through a crusher. No matter if it's a jaw, a horizontal impact or a cone crusher. It's super fun to watch!
@matthewroberts63349 сағат бұрын
I worked for a large paving corporation on the east coast for many years running a crushing operation. We crushed a lot of asphalt for reuse in the asphalt process and always found that if you run your jaw crusher in reverse and fluffed the feed instead of pulling it down into the crusher, we got better product and production especially in the warmer months when the asphalt would get gummy

@Leffe19218 сағат бұрын
Good to see the work products as well, beside the mining adventures :) Are there any sorting attachments available for the crushers? For making e.g 1/2" to 1" gravel? Also, i think that the crushed product is less consistent when input material is flat and about the same thickness as the jaw opening. I think the countertop scraps would be better gravel if the jaw opening was reduced to 3/4"

Hi Jason, what would somebody use crushed asphalt for?
@TalRohan3 сағат бұрын
Hi Jason I watch a lot of your video's and I had a thought while watching this one ..reinforced concrete was always awkward to remove but a real pain in the butt to get rid of. Do you have a crushing system that can deal with rebar and steel mesh while its still in concrete so the rebar could be recycled as well as the aggregate...not from a personal need but one I know can be a big problem for contractors

@@tipiring I’m betting it’s something between a warehouse and a fab shop. Lots of space for bringing everything together, some big benches for building the stuff, and some machines for cutting down or forming the raw materials.
