@@idle9195 rank is not actually directly correlated with strength for Asaemon, there are actually quite a few of them that are way stronger than Eizen but lower rank. The rank is basically just the likelihood to succeed as the next head of the Yamada clan

Note gabimaru is the most dangerous criminal that was taken to the island and remember the other criminals who weren't considered as much of a threat as him killed asaemon stronger than sagiri. The red marked criminal were criminal who have super power type abilities like Gabimaru flame abilities etc. Gabimaru could've offed her easily if he wanted but unlike the criminals he killed, sagiri is innocent which is why he was hesitating. Sagiri is literally the lowest ranking asaemon. The fact the asaemon leader made her guard the strongest criminal taken to the island is hilarious 😂.

Sometime tells me that there’s another motive aside from finding the elixir. Also the system sounds really messed up that they made, why have the executioners oversee the criminals when the criminals are stronger than them? Why is a low ranked executioner like sagiri overseeing gabimaru when he can easily kill or escape from her (though he can’t or he will face execution).
