I love my 1800c. My favorite part is when riding 2-up it still never lacks for power/torque. It really is a beast. My least favorite thing is that its not a 6 speed and it needs to be.

Great bike. I have an 02, 38,000 miles, Hypercharger , Power Commander and V& H exhausts. Very few problems, except Honda's rear wheel bearings are shit, replaced em twice until my shop recommended aftermarket bearings. Besides that, had the water pump crap out once, but that's it.

I want one of those engines for a 2 stroke conversion project. there a lot of room on those jugs to cut ports into them, i am thinking of using my yz-250 port pattern and domed billet aluminum heads and get rid of the ugly valve-train. Big harley v-wins make for a nice 2 stroke conversion also. something like this:kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIiyXoSsn7-kobM. Thats a Honda GX converted to a uniflow 2 stroke.

The Vance and Hines sound just dandy on this bike with a set of quite baffles installed. Takes the "tinny" sound out of it and gives it a deeper tone. It'll never sound like a Harley Davidson if that's what you're after....so I guess you'll just have to settle for its other attributes, like smoother, more powerful, more technologically advanced, more fuel efficient, better built, longer lasting, etc

The man drives like a wholesale incompetent. He displays a complete disregard to any other vehicles on the road. This is the type of rider that gives a bad name to all motorcyclists.
@CaptHollister
@CaptHollister 7 жыл бұрын
That's actually perfectly legal in most countries. There is nothing particularly dangerous about lane-splitting and other road users are unperturbed by it and even expect it. In my own experience, in countries where this is legal, drivers are more confused by a motorcycle that behaves like a car in traffic than they are by one that behaves like a motorcycle.
@22942
@22942 7 жыл бұрын
A properly ridden motorcycle displays due regard for other traffic on the road, and recognizes that it too is just another vehicle on the road. A motorcycle driven in the manner above, incites road rage among other cars and trucks, and confirms their opinion, that motorcycle operators in general are a pack of anti-social hooligans. Now, I, by no means, hold up myself as a perfect example of how to drive a motorcycle; I confess to having made some stupid, bonehead moves in my time, yet I can say that the overwhelming majority of the time, I ride in a manner consistent with the "safety rules" of the road. You say that lane splitting is safe, and expected by other drivers and such behaviour doesn't bother them. Permit me to wholeheartedly disagree. I argue that such selfish behaviour angers other drivers, leading to lack of regard for bikers in general. I agree that it is certainly possible to abuse the advantages that the small size and great acceleration of a motorcycle can bring, but, just because it is possible, does that mean it's best for all road users in general? Certainly I can hardly speak for more than myself,, but, as both a car driver, and a motorcyclist, I know the anger I feel when I see some uncaring biker weaving in and out of traffic, and cutting in front of me, forcing me to hit the brakes to avoid him splattering himself on my front bumper, then claiming that I rear ended him. I'd love to "accidentally" open my door as one of these uncaring and arrogant types squeezed between me and the car beside me. Awww... Oopsie.

You missed an important point. Lane-splitting is the safest and expected behaviour in many parts of the world. That it isn't tolerated where you live and may even incite road rage amongst your local drivers in no way changes the above statement.
@22942
@22942 7 жыл бұрын
You say that such behaviour is expected and safe; I continue to maintain that it may be expected, but it is not safe. That it is quite legal where you live, and in other parts of the world I quite concede. That does not, however, mean that it is either safe or courteous. How would you feel if such behaviour was indulged in by car drivers? Picture other cars "splitting lanes" beside or in front of you. You may argue that a motorcycle is much smaller and more nimble, and I would say that some are, but when it comes to full-sized motorcycles, they are but little, if any, smaller than many compact cars on the road. If such behaviour be frowned upon for those cars, then why is it tolerated for a motorcycle? Certainly my arguments and feelings ain't gonna change the world just because I don't like it. Fortunately, we are both entitled to our different feelings, and your opinion is every bit as valuable as mine. Thank you for your courteous reply to my post. Dan.

if you would have seen the wreck i seen back in the 70s when a guy was splitting lanes and a child dropped a toy out the window and when the kid opened the door, the bike came in , killed the boy of 8 inthe back seat , killed the 12 year old girl in the front seat passenger side, and the rider lived for about 4 hours if i remember, that is the best reason i have seen about why a bike rider should not split lanes,

I love my vtx1800, looking into putting 14 inch ape hangers on my my fat girl, I really wish honda would've continued producing this monster engine, the interstate is basically an upgraded vtx but sadly it only comes with a 1300, same with the fury it would really be a monster with an 1800

It's a trade off for way better brakes, fuel injection and power. I was surprised the 1800 was only 50 lbs heavier than the 1300. I went with the 1800 F. Sounds mechanical, goes like hell.😎

Harley Davidson cried like a little baby that Honda's 1800 looked similar to their 1800cc cruiser and that Honda's bike was affecting their sales. Obviously Harley Davidson was threatened but what an amazing looking and reliable motorcycle Honda made why would anyone buy a Harley if Honda continued to make this bike.

That lane splitting at the end is an example of a horrific decision on a bike not suited for that behavior, however...If you definitely want to fk your bike up, and possible yourself, it's a great choice. There's a time for that, and a situation where it's fine, that was *not* one of those.
