Yep good "crawdad hole." Lol. But should try fishing it down where the train crosses just before the mine. When the river is up and muddy and the creek is clear, you wouldn't believe what can be caught outta there. I got a 52 lb flathead last year there, lol.

I will be able to read the comments but its difficult to reply back on my cell phone since the letters are to small for my fingers. Thanks for watching, commenting and rating!!

Nice video! Ah the sound of jointed rail! I can't believe how tight that rail is bent at that curve that goes to the left side of that first large white barn or rail barn near the beginning of the video. I wonder if the little old steam engine that was passed was used on the old narrow gauge years ago to move the cars. Also interesting seeing where the coal is conveyed out of the mountain to the four bay car loading tower or building. I wonder if the mine actually ran out or just became financially not profitable any more?
@imaginarystoner3 жыл бұрын
the coal company just left it as far as i understand they didnt run out cause theres been talk in recent years of reopening the mines - lived around here my entire life and its still interesting

The Big South Fork Scenic Railway is restoring a 0-6-0 steam locomotive in their locomotive shops
@JawTooth8 жыл бұрын
Yes, I got see it disassembled a few years ago. I also saw that 0-6-0 in Clearfield Ky back in 1979 in an old abandoned engine house. It use to run on the Morehead & Northfork Railroad.
@didyou5558 жыл бұрын
huh... On google maps it says that the road bed is still there with ties from the Morehead & Northfork Railroad and there is trestle, too
@JawTooth8 жыл бұрын
Brent Wood there is a small amount of track remaining in Clearfield where the railroad buildings were. CSX was removed in 1985 and the MNF went right after that. I use to watch the trains from my bedroom window. I rode the locomotives on both lines. That was a cool area when both lines were running
@Trains4Fun8 жыл бұрын
9:35 why was there a van on the tracks. lol😅

I think they were stealing new tie plates. We walked down there later and when they saw us they tore out of there. They left some tie plates next to the gravel lane. I think they thought I was a cop since I was holding my scanner up listening to it and they saw us before we saw them.
