If a character that joined the circus ACTUALLY genuinely liked Jax, he'd probably use that to his advantage and do the typical thing that sociopathic narcissists do *and that's to manipulate them to their benefit, because as we know, there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING heroic about Jax* 💀

I did something similar to that with a character. The slightest amount of affectionate thoughts were given too late and the character abstracted from the constant abuse and manipulation. Instead of abstracting from mania, they just straight up gave up because they were made to believe there was no one there for em. That they were completely alone in the circus.
