I love your insights and encouragement to be courageous in our creativity. I’ve only been knitting for 2 years and have clung to patterns as gospel but you are inspiring me to try new things, start over, and make adjustments based on my own judgement. I’m learning to enjoy the process not the product alone.

Thank you for sharing your inner thoughts about creating with us. Knitting (for me loom knitting) gives us the opportunity to create beautiful objects which reflect our own aesthetic. We have the freedom to adapt patterns and make them our own by choosing colors and stitches which reflect our own unique style and to have fun as we create. I very much enjoy hearing about your ideas and seeing your beautiful creations and look forward to the next episode.

Lovely to spend time with you - I really appreciate how you embrace that knitting is, or should be, for our own benefit and pleasure - not just making because a crowd is making that same thing, but making because the item really speaks to us personally, as far as fit and styling goes... it's so easy to just go with the next new shiny thing, but having your sense of intention really makes the items seem so much more special. Thank you for this! Cheers, Judith 💜

Having watched each of the episodes of your new podcast, it occurred to me watching this one today, that it is your grace that sets you and you “content” (apologies for using that word, but I feel it applies here), apart. Whether you are speaking about colour, knitting, reading a beautiful and meaningful poem, or sharing stories about Phillip and Joan, you have a gracefulness; a measured way of speaking that I hear with my heart. I lean in. I want to hear more. Please. And thank you.

So generous of you to share your time and thoughts with us - thank you Jackie. I'd love to join you for the color workshop coming up - I think it'll be a wonderful experience for those present to learn and explore how to interact better with colour. I also appreciate your musings about sometimes allowing "imperfect" color choices into our colour landscapes - just because. It helps just to recognize and understand why certain articles of clothing become more beloved to us than others!

Thank you, Jackie, for taking time out for your busy life to check in with us. I’ve been saving this coffee date for some Saturday night frogging. I had a big smile on my face when you were talking about your sons’ hi jinx when they were younger. It brought back fond memories of that stage in raising my son. I’d like to cast a vote for the bright pink and yellow colors as additions to your Soho Square - signature Jackie! P.S. you were glowing today and your make-up was especially flattering (House of Colour?).

this has been the most inspiring, soothing and insightful knitting content I have seen in a while. Thank you for being brave to put something different and your honest self out here. PS: my inner voice is quite a harsh critic one , and I am trying to indulge her only every now and then. If I feed her often, she becomes a black hole of negativity, but if I try to ignore her, it is like the monster under the bed, and I don´t want to keep any hidden creatures down there. I think I am going to call mine Rachel ( so many times people confuse my actual name, Rebeca, with Rachel, it became a joke over time). Rachel was right when she said that one sleeve from one of my handknits needs redone. Even if that means it is going to take extra time to finish the garment. However, if she starts getting too perfectionist or productive driven, I have to step in and remind her this craft , to me is my playground, and I just want to play, be free and for just a little bit not take myself too seriously. Sorry for my long ramble comment, but lately I have been thinking about how I want to present myself in my own channel and you have inspired me with your authenticity. Thank you, gracias!

Hello there fellow Yarnisan. As a fairly longtime devour of your work, I love the dark blue linen quill on you. What happens if that would be your 4th colour for the wrap and you and your face is what makes an impact instead of the garment and it would be knitting into your wardrobe. Good luck with your choices and may the odds ever be in your favour.

I am definitely doing the Snow Crocus as a progress knit and taking it as a learning project. It has been so inspiring to see your versions and thought process for this garment as well as the garments from the other members of the class. I will probably knit another version of this sweater again with my Nutiden yarn and I will do it with a foldover neckline but for now, I am knitting it with mohair/dk combo.

I’m less following rules, and more exploring these parameters as a thought experiment - while it serves me. Wouldn’t it be TERRIBLE if we called them color diets?! 😱 Anyway, I tell myself I can still knit with ANY color, I’m just mindful of the proportions now. The biggest shift is letting me and my other clothes play a bigger role in my choices than all the vociferous marketing. I have my doubts, but I’m just playing along, staying curious, but it’s definitely a shift, and with all change there’s an element of discomfort. All this to say, I want my choices to energize me, but that can be a long game in the beginning. Let yourself be off balance, let yourself play, and somewhere along the way, there will be moments of click, snaps of insight, and delights we did not expect. 🥰

I’m trying to share the process: uncertainty is a necessary element. I knit into the answer. I love the process of discovery. I’ve found some viewers think there are people who are good with color like it’s a fixed trait. Color is a language. We practice, play, make mistakes. The “right answer” I’m curious to live into, is what I grab to wear. 🥰

I love your color direction for the soho squares. Here's an idea: your color sense is so incredible that as a future opportunity...what about a group through patreon where people meet through zoom or other videos to discuss expression through color? Whether you know your color season or not, just exploring what colors may sing together. I would sign up. I get intimidated by color and would love to gain insights and ideas for combining color...whether it be with the linen quill palette or the lamb and kid palette or whatever. "Painting with yarn" essentially. ❤

I guess I prefer a little brighter. & higher saturation, like ‘mountain bluebird’ instead of the gray denim with the kiln red. Gives a little more contrast. Esp next to cream. The gray denim is so drab, yet beautiful in its own right. I’m sure whatever you choose will be lovely.
