Top lane has a lot of stat check matchups where it’s literally whoever gets a slight gold lead hard stomps since it’s melee va melee. That’s why top laners say their role sucks if they die once.

It has nothing to do with stat check. Sidelanes are longer, so it means that the opponent can zone you out of XP, and XP is way more valuable than gold. That's not even possible on mid. Also, a frozen wave is way more punishing than mid. A losing toplaner needs the jungler to help him fix wave states, but 99.9999% of junglers on soloQ are a bunch of animals that think their only options are ganking, and farming. Botlane is also a long lane, but XP is shared, and it is a bit impossible to keep a extended freeze against two champions that can waste abilities to force a crash, and farm on the rebounce (also, support can roam, letting the ADC soak solo XP, minimizing the difference, and putting pressure on another lane).

At the highest level, fiora has better kill pressure in lane against jax until 6. At 6, if jax has survived lane and has even exp/about even gold, then it's even. After first item, jax wins. 2 items it becomes about even again depending on what was built. 3 items fiora wins. Full build, jax wins if he doesn't get with any part of fioras parry at all.

Full build fiora wins even if she misses parry and gets stun cause she can still insta procc Ult with fast combo and with just 1 or 2 more vitals she deals 20% of max hp as true dmg. Its still whoever plays it better wins

The matchup is Jax’s to lose. It basically comes down to if Fiora can guess when jax will stun her with e. If she guesses correctly, she wins.

I am a grandmasters top laner, and currently ranked top 5 in NA for jax. Jax wins about 10% of matchups, has about 20% favorable matchups, 40% toss-up, and 20% unfavorable, and 10% unplayable. Some common easy harx counters to jax are Quinn and Gragas.
