Don't forget, he played pro-players, not college kids. All the time people compare him to NBA players, and say he is not that good. But he was the best in the second best pro-league in the world. Not in the NCAA. A team like Madrid would beat Villanova easily for example. Doncic is the best of all players in the Euroleague, so he can play. And he won the European Championship alongside Dragic and their coach is the new Phoenix headcoach. If Doncic will go 1, I don't know, but I know he can realy play and if he would have played in the NCAA, he would the best there too.

The more I watch film on him the more I like him and the more I feel like he should go #1. Suns cant go wrong with Ayton or Doncic but Doncic seems like the most NBA ready right now. Very high basketball IQ, great court vision and passing ability, got a good jump shot (needs to improve shot selection), high level rebounder, and played way higher level of competition. He’s a complete player and still improving.

wow...the sheer stupidity from some of you...Luka Dončič turned 19 a couple of months ago, he was the youngest debutant at 16 in the best league outside of the NBA , then followed that up by receiving the rising star award, soon after that he helped Dragič & co. bring Slovenia its first title (as an independent country) ever, being a key player and deservedly got named in the 1st team of the tournament...and after that he just guided Real Madrid to the Euroleague title, named again in the 1st team of the tournament, again unanimously getting the rising star award, regular season MVP and Final four MVP awards, and is currently playing the Spanish finals with Real Madrid, if they win that then he will literally win each and every possible award (personal and club level) this season...all while puting up great numbers in and of themselves, without even considering the fact that in Europe the tempo of the game is much slower, and the game itself is shorter (40 minutes compared to 48 in the NBA) and some of you think just because he's not a physical beast like LeBron that he can't make it? do some of you honestly think that someone as hard of a worker as Dončič is won't be working on improving his weaknesses? just take a look at Dragič when he got in the NBA and compare that to what he's become now...

18 yo Luka was the best player in Europe, winning MVPs, leading his team to the Euroelague title by being their best player. Pau Gasol, Dirk Nowitzki, Dražen Petrović, Tony Parker, Vlade Divac, Toni Kukoč, Goran Dragić were all great NBA players and none of them could do that. 18 yo Luka was better than all of them at 18 years of age. Everyone in Europe expected Luka to be one of the best in the world in his prime.
