He needs more basic physical trainings, maybe shake another 20 to 30 pounds, increase both upper and lower body strength which in turn will help improve speed and explosiveness. His mindset is what I'd be worried about, I mean this kid got way too famous way too young, how he's gonna adapt in the NBA should be a hugh concern here. Euro league ranks #2 in the world, sure...but athleticism wise, it doesn't even compare to the D-league. I guess we'll have to see which team gambles on him soon enough.

He just won a Euroleague title with Real Madrid, was picked best young player in Euroleague second year in a row, was picked in first team of Euroleague, was picked as an MVP of Euroleague (youngest ever by far), was picked as a final four MVP and a year ago at 18 won a European championship with his home country of Slovenia (2 mil people) beating Porzingis' Latvia in top 8 and Gasol brothers at semi finals and Serbia in the finals and was than voted in a team of a tournament. At 19 he also played over 140+ professional games of basketball games and well achieved all above and many other awards, basically achieved all he could and still as we talk he is about the play in the best of 5 to win a Spanish basketball league also, meanwhile his competition is in gyms trying to impress reporters and scouts in private training sessions. It will not matter if he is not number 1, number 2, number 3.... It will matter when you will miss on a franchize changing player, born winner, seasoned vet, leader.... Wherever he lands he will be used to the pressure and spot light, it has been his life for the past few years, he has been writing history from the get go...and people ignoring it deserve to be amongst those who will stand in his way...

I love Luka's game, but you gotta be honest. He is not athletic enough to take on MOST GUARDS in the league. Even Players like eric bledsoe and reggie jackson would give him trouble. He should be a sf in the NBA, like hayward and johnson(his physical comparisons in the video). Lesser athletes will allow him to play better d while also stretching the court for other players to attack the basket. Sure he'll struggle against people like kawhi lebron pg13 durant, but he can grow into defending them once he gets a better grasp on that side of the ball. He's not gonna get much more athletic but he can get bigger and stronger. He's 225 right now at 19. NBA workouts could have him up around 240 in a couple years so he can really bully some players in the post(especially on a switch).

Al Goody he would give bledsoe and reggie jackson way more problems than they give him. They are like 6'1, theres no way they can guard 6'8-230. And he can stay infront of them on most plays. And doncic can switch and guard atleast 3 positions.

I'd be surprised if he mostly guards the opposing point guard in the NBA. There's plenty of shooting guards and combo guards between 6'2'' and 6'6'' that are good primary defenders against quick point guards and pick and rolls. I'd imagine Doncic mostly guards players at SG/SF in the NBA, so he can block passing lanes, use his length and positioning to guard his man on the catch, and help on rebounds. Maybe sometimes switch him to guard PGs to give them a different look or bother somebody like Rajon Rondo, who is used to seeing over his defender.

Why on earth, in today's guard dominant league, would you pass on a 6'8 point guard who does everything well apart from three point shooting and defence. I see alot of clueless american, i myself don't watch the euro league but it's clear that this league is the 2nd best in the world and that it's superior to college level. The guy is 19, dominates that league and become the mvp, he also plays at the euro, wins it with his country and finish in the team of the tournament, playing against euro league players and NBA players mind you. That's pretty self explanatory if you ask me, the guy is one of the most skilled prospect of all time probably and his floor is really high no matter what because of this skills and his game iq. Right with you bro I've lived in Arlington over 40 years and have been a Mavs fan all that time. My worst nightmare was when Cuban blew up his championship team and I let him have a piece of my mind on Twitter. He unfollowed me lol but I know I was right. He left Dirk twisting in the wind with no support on the court and then Cuban had the fucking NERVE to ask him to take a pay cut so he could rebuild the team.
