Its not even close to his best condition ( 09) or his best phisique( 01).Its a good version but not even in his top 5 packages. His best versions would be 01,02 AC, 03 Ironman, 09 and MAYBE 06 comes in at 5th...

The thing about Samson he doesn't have one signature body part. His biggest strength is balance with a small waist. For a guy that tall and big with a small waist and balance it's very hard to beat! He doesn't have the best back or arms or legs or chest but he has everything. Most bodybuilders have stand out body parts but they still lack in other areas.

Have you guys noticed in the top 3 bb Ronnie, Jay and Phil there is 2 physiques that standout as the best for each. Ronnie 99 and 03, Jay 01 and 09, and Phil 11, 13. Top 6 physique in bodybuilding. Jay kind of underrated in the side chest since he had to go up against ronnie. but otherwise his execution was pretty flawless (better than Ronnie at any rate) and he wasn't lacking anything in the pose really. You could nitpick better side leg separation and maybe far pec striations (?). Given that Samson isn't the most detailed and separated guy either its actually super close between the 2.

i wouldn't give the RDB to Samson outright, Jay does lose the lower lats and those wrinkles... but everywhere else he is edging out Samson. His back looks twice as thick and he is winning in the delts and overall lower body. I would also give Jay the FDB, sure he is losing the x-frame but that's all. He is winning in the biceps, lats and midsection detail including serratus; with every other part being roughly equal and Samson's gyno being very distracting in that pose.
