a very wise friend once said to me ‘while it’s important to look after ourselves, it’s also important sometimes to not be holding ourselves together perfectly, if that makes sense’… i think what she said is so on point. we all go through seasons. sometimes we’re on. sometimes we’re off. sometimes w’ere striving. sometimes we’re survivalists. it’s all okay. nothing is constant. we need to be gentle and aware of the seasons inside us. nothing is without meaning. all that is happening is all part of a bigger supernatural process and we are divine beings within it. within the beautiful game. remember to wake up and breathe. take a deep breath in. hold yourself and remember the miracle. everything is gonna be great! Jay Elec works to these rhythms. and when he's on. he makes magic.
@Neechy Жыл бұрын
Beautiful words. Thank you. We all have things we strive for, but being in survival mode so much of the time gets in the way, and it's difficult for me to find acceptance in that. Especially as an artist myself. I think it's the challenge of getting older and realization of our mortality, that if we aren't striving all the time then we are somehow failures. But a lot of wisdom and growth can come through suffering in those survival periods. I guess the key is knowledge of self and staying connected to the higher consciousness

Shiny Suit Theory is like the most incredible thing to me. I remember Jay was doing snips of his verse many years ago when he was teasing this album but he never played the full joint. Years years and then later you hear Jay Z on it and I think the story goes that he sent him this and Jay just laid the verse down and after that he was down with Roc Nation. Did this song ever exist when Jay was doing the snippets? Was dude leading us on with a sample of an incomplete work/work in progress the whole time? Then you hear Shiny Suit Theory on the album with Jay Z...cool old but cool it's on there. Then it's rereleased on this album with the Intro/transition of Dinner at Tiffany's...HOLY FUCKING SHITTT this same song feels renewed with that and just add that the song before Dinner at Tiffany's is a song by her father and Jay's just rhyming over it. The whole transition from song to song are really well thought out there. And I swear that's one of the best Jay Z verses ever and he's spit a lot of great ones but that one's right up there. Hov always levels up with Jay Electronica.
