New Orleans has an accent that is influenced by French, Spanish and of course African languages. That's Creole, as another commenter stated. Because the city also has an Irish and Italian community so "whites" tend to sound Brooklynese. If you want an example search for Mayor Mitch Landrieu.

you read the comment section and people here have been brainwashed to believe volume = relevance/quality. Look at an artist like Sade. She releases once every 10 years or more it seems, and every time she does it bangs. Jay Elect is well within his right, as a creative, to release music as he pleases. if he doesnt wanna drop another record for 5 years, then so fucking be it. that's creativity. you spend time perfecting and living which gives credence to your art. you niggas been getting the same tired ass drum sounds from 'artists' on repeat, 30 songs a year, and they are so uninspiring that you classify shit as waves. he built his hyped and has sustained this hype by the industry elite/tastemakers because they are actually fans and that does not happen often. let him create how he wants.

Kot W Yes. Jay Elec is a not just a wordsmith he’s a ‘thoughtsmith’. Tyler really is as well. Also the influences are similar Tyler was influenced by MF Doom and a lot of back pack rappers. Tyler’s upbringing seemed more privileged. Jay is older, Tyler is carefree and scoffs at the norm. Jay Elec does the same but from a more wise-mature type of stance. Lol Jay also kinda looks like an older Tyler lol
