I would say the top 3 guitarists, as far as having a profound influence and embodying the "rock star" image, are 1. Eddie Van Halen 2. Jimi Hendrix 3. Angus Young. I understand about the Ace Frehley inclusion Jay Jay put in there, but really, Angus has surpassed I would even say the first two, just based on longevity and the schoolboy "cult" which is famous all over the world

Sometimes bands struggle for years in obscurity because their early material isn’t very good. I know Kenny Rogers and Bob Seger paid dues for many, MANY YEARS before breaking big. He doesn’t seem to acknowledge that as a possibility.
