Your story hit home for me. I went into the Marine Corps in 1969. A year earlier, a buddy from high school, also in the Marine Corps, was in the battle of Khe Sahn, Vietnam. He was discharged from the Corps while I was in Vietnam, and we lost touch. After I got out in 1973, I decided to look him up. I learned he had taken his life a year after returning home. Welcome home Sgt Maj Wood. I hope you are doing well.

As a Brit I would like to thank all the American service men and women who stand guard and look out for the world. You don't have to like America if you don't want to but you have to respect their service people without whom the world would be much worse. I would also like to thank their families for letting them serve abroad as well, this is such a hardship for them and for the American people for allowing their armed forces to intervene when it would be easy not to. But I would ask just one thing PLEASE show them the respect they deserve if they are lucky enough to come home alive and not in a body bag GOD KNOWS the living soldiers who return need it and the poor souls who die should be immortalised because I KNOW THEY DESERVE IT.....By the way you have a better national anthem as well

Yeah its about time this anti-americanism ends. Most Americans are not like how it's being depicted in the media but sad to say that's what the rest of the world is fed. Instead of judging, people need to discover for themselves the true nature of what they are seeing.

Thank you for the kind words! I’m an AF vet, son of an AF vet, grandson of an Army vet who lost his leg fighting in France! I grew up in a military family. The best words you said were about the families of us....they serve too and so often have NO idea where their loved ones are! US is going through a lot right now.....but we are losing 22 vets a day to suicide! So I ask all who read this, take time if you see a vet! Just ask how they are....it means a lot to them!

@@michae8jackson378 Total respect to you and your familes service through the years. The image of a VET is a tough guy but as you know more than anyone that life after service can be harder than than anything they have experienced. Remember though there is no shame , no shame in asking for some help with mental health. Stay strong we all owe you a lot and whilst we do not walk in your shoes we will walk beside you when ever we can. Love to you all

Auto Young Are you out of your mind? I can't believe how easily you swallow bullshit. That Hellcat was donated by FCA. This is what I hate about Leno. He's in it for the PR. He presents the award and chips in a tour of his garage. As far as I know, he's only donated two vehicles to charity over the years. A GMC Cyclone and FIAT 500. Hardly worth mentioning. When he donates a Deusenberg or McLaren F1, he'll get my respect. to get an idea of how Jay operates, watch the JLG video on the '56 Nomad. Chip Foose "Overhauled" it on his TV show. Leno set up the mark and delivered the car at his garage. Whenever he talks about it, he says "we" modified, "we" changed, "we" painted, etc. Nobody at Jay's garage touched that thing!

You do realize that Jay has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to organizations like this? He has also personally helped to raise over 40 million dollars for wounded veteran charities. Or the fact that Jay has not only helped to raise awareness, which of course is one of the reasons that the White heart foundation receives it's donations. Also Jay has actually bought several cars for vets as well. Jay is more than a presenter, he is also a donator. In fact no money was paid for this bike, it was donated. Jay paid for the trip, and it was set up by the White Heart foundation. Chuck gave them the bike, to give to the soldier. So if you really want to try and upset people over money, then tell them to thank Chuck.

Unbelievably sad that there would be so many thumbs down on such a wonderful video such a selfless video to help somebody out I just don’t get it why people are so miserable. Jay. That’s very cool brother. This video touched me a bit because I love riding motorcycles and my best friend is a veteran who served three tours in Afghanistan and he was very fortunate because people to the left and right of him we’re being killed and he made it but he’s really suffering with severe PTSD so thank you for doing what you’re doing for the veterans Mr. Leno

It's wonderful to see these special events, gifts, recognition, etc., for these men and women that volunteered to serve to keep us free! I am very grateful for all they gave! My only problem is knowing too many are sleeping on the streets, and I wonder why??? There are no military in my family, but I do support 2 veterans organizations! One good thing I learned is- I used to send cards to the big military hospital in Washington, but they started returning them because they had so many they couldn't handle them! I then looked for smaller local ones, And even most of them were full, too! Thanks and my gratitude to all who serve, both then and now!
