Notice he said the most fun time he ever had in wrestling was when he was allowed to impersonate one of the greatest "B+" players of the WWF history being Macho Man. Based off the ratings, he is technically a B+ guy. Honestly when you think of the 80's, primarily you think of Hulk Hogan THEN maybe Ultimate Warrior and then finally Macho Man Randy Savage. Vince was reluctant to give the title to Savage in the first place due to how low the draws were in comparison to Hogan. But, he had character and a personality which elevated him to the top and made him a draw in his own right (still, not THE draw like Hogan was).

Hulk Hogan was the 80's personified. There literally would be no modern North American wrestling without him in it. His impact on the industry places him above his contemporaries and even those he fought against in the WCW. Savage was good, too, albeit in a much smaller role.
