i agree because their accounts of talking to him and seeing him, do NOT MATCH up to timings. BRAD spoke at 8.00. LUCY spoke at 8.30. he was lost and hungry. There is a PHOTO OF SOMEONE ASSUMED JAY outside on steps around 7ish holding a cigarette and a lighter. wearing the blanket the guy in air bnb said he had been giving to keep warm whilst sleeping. we dont see who it is exactly, i did note whoever it was, had black shoes on. so this person got up early and went outside for a cigarette wearing a blanket and black shoes (or could have been socks hardly think so lol). FACT. The landlady said she saw him early when he asked her about the times of the buses. Ophelia said that Jay had asked about catching the bus from the area that morning before leaving on foot along the road - the only route through the area. He wasn't thirsty then just behaving normally so now when was that exactly? First reports she said 8am. Well that cant match with brad and lucy can it? THEN she states : He walked up the road when I saw him for the last time. "He was alone. He was walking normally, though he was fast." WHEN WAS THAT? (NOTE WHEN I SAW HIM FOR THE LAST TIME.....means she had seen him before). So how at 8.30 could he have been thirsty and lost etc. the timing makes no sense. DID he go back to the airbnb when the landlady saw him but that makes no sense he was walking away from the air bnb. These couple of hours before the last ping on the mountain do not make sense or match up. ALSO where the airbnb was; there are 2 bars located either side so one a bit further down the road to the town he wanted to go too and one further up. Nope for me nothing makes sense its that window of 2 hours which is not working for me. ITS NOT THAT HOT in june certainly when he was there. In fact the sun doesn't come up until 7.08 so the photo of him on steps has to be after then, note no phone but cigarette and lighter. so he had a lighter with him and his cigarettes. The case started at the airbnb, and i feel it will end at the airbnb.

Once the police realised this was connected to drugs they did right I would not waste money on the drug community unless it involved a innocent person. But when this Lucy women Jay went to Tenerife with as been selling drugs and was there in March working for drug dealers. She must have discussed all this with Jay before he even left the UK. She must have told him where all her cash came from kids caint help them selves when bragging about cash. The guy in the BB probably gave him an 1 hour start before going after him for a drug debt. I support the spanish police 100% I would shelve this case.

I heard a real interesting rumour online. I don't know how long it was after he arrived in Tenerife, but Jay Slater stole "an expensive watch" with "the marli lads" (= Somalia lads as in the Masca Air B n B guest's) on "a Saturday night". We know for FACT that Jay Slater did steal an expensive watch. But the brand of watch they stole was NOT a Rolex was Jay Slater claimed. The watch brand was a Audemars Piguet, make & model stolen, around £50k brand new. That was the name & brand of watch that Jay Slater nicked & with the two Somalia Air B n B guests. What happened next? The owner of the watch not only had ties to (low & behold) the small & isolated village of Masca, but also dealings with the police. Of all the places they could have chosen, the Somalia boys Air B n B is in the village of Masca. Knowing that they're NOW in a lot of trouble & on this island (remember unlike Jay, the Somalia boys spend an awful lot of time of that island due to the running of a coffee shop), instead of selling the watch with Jay, the Somalia boys doubled crossed him & traded Jay in, to the owner of the watch & were going to hand him over at their Air B n B in Masca. That's in return for their own continued "safety" on the island. But Jay picked up on it & fled. Hence why, he was "too scared to go back" to the Air B n B, even though it was the most sensible option. I don't want to believe this or look for a sensational element to the disappearance, but if you're asking me to put "2&2 together" , Jay Slater, with the two Somalia boys, robbed (realistically) a drug dealer of an expensive watch, that had ties to (& of all the places in the world) Masca. Now fearing for their own safety, the Somalia boys, double crossed Jay & were going to trade him in for their own continued safety on the island. But Jay picked up on it & fled. I reckon that drug dealer (with others) turned up at the Air B n B & from their, hunted Jay down in the Tenerife wilderness. Hence why dodgy police investigation, hence why a woman admitting she saw Jay walking in the wrong direction (possible scouting mission), hence why no body's been found. "Yes" & by all accounts, Jay Slater was a bad lad. But I do feel for his parents as they are up against the full might of Tenerife's "status quo" (Mayors, corrupt legal system & cops, plus major drug dealers) which will obviously amount to a wall of silence. Therefore & to get to the bottom of this mystery, Jay Slater's parents need to acknowledge the FACT that & from the word "GO", their son's disappearance seems to revolve around, NOT a drug debt, by an "expensive stolen watch". From there, they desperately need to get Spainsh police to open up their files, also acknowledging the claim/"rumour" that an "expensive stolen watch" is/was a potential line of investigation & from there, desperately try & trace the owner of the "expensive stolen watch", that we know for FACT was stolen by their son, Jay. It's the owner of the stolen watch, that holds the most answers to this case.

Tenerife is a small island with limited resources. The two week search probably ran into the hundreds of thousands of Euros already. There are so many unknowns in this case and many people involved are not telling the truth. I think the unlikliest scenario is that he really got lost walking back to his accommodation. I feel like many do, that something bad happened to Jay because of drugs or the stolen watch. I'm sure the local authorities feel this way too. There is no justification in continuing the search.

The local police thought this was simply a case of a missing person on their island. Probably many go missing every year. Not until more facts became apparent did they realise that there was more to it than that. Unfortunately a lot of the forensic evidence may now be unusable in court due to contamination.

To me it sounds like the other guys at the AirBnB had got wind that Jay had been identified on CCTV so he was set loose. I think that is why he could not return to the AirBnB. This is if the watch story is true.

Why? They did mess up - maybe deliberately. Jay’s disappearance and search has revolved around two men in an AirBnB - one of whom has been shown to be a drugs crook - the evidence of the sister of the AirBnB’s owner and the claims of two dodgy mates about a couple of phone calls.
