I delivered my daughter to Nina on repeat for 6 hours and when the midwife asked if I wanted to change the CD, I snarled at her lol. 22 years ago and I'll snap if I'm on Nina and you want to turn it. 😠

In this song Jigga also samples bits and pieces of a song called Four Women by Nina Simone where she basically gives little narratives of black women of different stations during slavery times. Jay sort of follows the idea of her song in this video cause as we can see, it's also about slaves and different class systems of black people (mainly men though) back then. In the cartoon there's a flash of a woman playing a piano in a club that (to me anyways) resembles Nina. I've been noticing a lot of hip-hop artists sample her music lately. Twenty One Pilots - Nico and the Niners Mac Miller - Donald Trump Jay-Z - Smile And to get some women up in here i'll request...Missy Elliot - I'm Better Ft. Lamb and Janelle Monae - Django Jane

Few massively impressive tracks/ seminal hip hop moments: Outkast - "Spottieottiedopaliscious" or "Aquemini"... the entire album changed rap at the time, these are definite highlights though Big Pun - "Twinz (Deep Cover 98)"... this one has the most ridiculous 8 bars in rap history Mos Def - "Mathematics"... kind of track where you just exhale through your nose and shake your head in stunned disbelief Tupac - "Hit 'em up"... The definitive diss track Wu- Tang Clan - "Impossible" to have your eyes opened or "C.R.E.A.M" for a banger... literally any track though absolute legends A few to go off for the moment, hope you enjoy!

Giving you a history about a the beat: It comes from an old song called "Four Girls" by Nina Simone, describing four different African American women growing up in the same harshness in American society. Jay-Z was paying homage to in the chorus to Nina Simone's original, yet flipping it: Nina was describing from a women's point of view, while Jay did it in the men's perspective. There's so many layers! A real suggestion is since you guys seem like full blown hip-hop heads now, you have to start listening to RnB music as well from the 70's-90's. Most of the rap samples comes from them. The meanings of alot of your questions comes from the actual music itself! Also, the top two Women of today are: Beyonce-Everything! Rihanna- Everything! That's it, that should cover you for 2019!
