Both supports were Diamonds DPS....THATS NOT HOW THIS WORKS JAY. "a plat player" means someone who has reached plat and started to plateau(50:50 winrate) ON THEIR MAIN ROLE. Anyone who is good enough to reach GM on a role has the game sense and awareness of a GM player. They just haven't spent the time to rank up other roles/heroes.

yeah... i think for this series one should not be allowed to be above the specific rank in ANY role. I am Plat and barely play the game... Burg has over 1000 Hours, i have like 50 max... no way he is comparable to someone like me.

@@tomie5937 you’d be right if it wasn’t for the fact that the guy obviously barely plays DPS. He had 12 games won, that’s only two rank ups, add to that the rank decay as well. He would most likely be able to easily climb out of plat. Similarly to Burg, I’m GM tank and when I play DPS, not only is it unfair because I shit on everyone, but I’m not trying as much as when I play my main role, where I actually care about the rank.

I always feel like Masters+ players always seem to forget that plat players aren't terrible, we do actually understand how to play the game, it's plat not bronze (plat does not equal bad mechanics lmao). We just havent mastered the 3 pillars of the game like they have xD But also, tbf, some of those plats were diamond+ in other roles.

I agree with a few peoples opinions on here lol, if you have the game mechanics to hit a certain elo as tank, dps or support that should give you the game sense to start realizing others positioning, when/what they use their ults for etc. Im almost masters as support but haven’t played much of tank cause I was really unhappy with my placements. Any game I’ve had this season with a decent dps to finish most kills off or a support that actually healed the team we completely obliterated the other team. Example: Jay3 Top 500 Dps main, imagine the value he could possibly get as a Zen or Bap. I don’t watch a ton of his content, but I’m sure Jay could easily hit masters+ one tricking as those supports lol. Hopefully my point is understandable

I am 100% convinced that the highest rank dictates the true level of a player in any rank. With the exception of the players who one trick Mercy and Moira. Their lack of aim can be a problem in other roles

With these two assets, you can very clearly dominate anything below GM. All you have to do is to play simple heroes like Cassidy or Soldier, and use your GM knowledge

It’s certainly difficult to one clip enemies who are currently engaged with you but even good players can get caught out and one clipped which is why higher elo players always try to keep a tab on where Tracer is flanking.

Tbh, I have no real clue where I rank these days. The last time I actually tried to climb, I hit plat...but that was in OW1 2018, lol. I think there are a lot more stealth GM level players lurking around the game than before tbh. (not saying I am....I'd say I'm maybe around Diamond at best, lol)
