'Jayalalithaa's saree was pulled…': Sitharaman reminds DMK's Kanimozhi of 1989 TN assembly incident

DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi on Wednesday, speaking on Manipur viral video, said both the perpetrators and those who were silent spectators would be punished by the people of India, just as had happened in the Mahabharata. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman replied to DMK MP and reminded her of the Jayalalitha incident. Minister said she wanted to remind her about an incident which happened on March 25, 1989, in the Tamil Nadu Assembly when the then Leader of Opposition Jayalalitha's saree was pulled.

As a non tamilian and student of polity I can sincirely say that J Jailalitha was one of the greatest politician in our country her dedication, passion, seva for the people of TN, welfare schemes for poor peoples are one of the finnest example of her dignity. Still I remember that when she was died in 2016 how the peoples are cried for her especially womens peoples were deeply emotional like their family's gardian is passed away. Till now I have never seen this kind of emotions in between the peoples when their political leaders were demised.
