"I Never Sit On Files" | Nirmala Sitharaman To Shashi Tharoor Over Pending Dues For GST Compensation

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, "I never sit on files", in reply to Congress MP Shashi Tharoor's question over pending dues for GST compensation.
"Since Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had just told the Lok Sabha that all pending dues for GST compensation had been paid to the states, I sought clarification of the position regarding Kerala, whose Finance Minister has averred that Rs. 4439 crores are still due in shortfalls since 2017," Tharoor tweeted.

You don't know how the constitution and states function...…most state govts are too powerful, have larger work force and most importantly excessively corrupt. They change budgets, spend money on whimsical things that govts are not supposed to do. Sania mirza making crores of money in gifts while farmers are committing suicides and Olympians getting peanuts if they dont win something are smallest examples. 90% of execution is with state govt, while Centre controls taxation and have control of spending and accountability. Its a decent check and balance.

Written off, not waived off. Written off means recovery is started. But balance sheet if bank is recapitalized. Just because some people defaulted, doesn't mean bank will stop functioning right? So, recovery can happen in parallel. And the past losses can be filled in parallel.
