The Platinum controllers are also mostly guarenteed to be the type 3 variation as well, my advice get a platinum controller or a later controller with a longer cord.

I have a type 2 Platinum controller I got at a thrift store yesterday, the front looks great and the back looks… Like what you would expect after around 20 years of someone else scraping on the table when they are done playing. Everything works, although the Z button feels crunchy.

@@Gold_Yoshi Nice, most of the Platinum controllers I ever used for the type 3 variation but I also had one that was a type 2 model but what's really cool about it is it's one of those were the plastic pieces that hold the L & R buttons are on the PC be instead of being screwed on the back of the controller

Just checked my GameCube controller from like 2004 ish, I got the CE model.

It took me a while to look for it, but any controller that have the dot but not the ce mark are type 3 in case someone was looking for that

Type 3 are 🤌 and if they fell off you can easily take them apart and lube them up/ clean them too just 🤌

I don't get it. Metal is better than plastic when you don't want deformation. If the stick were metal, metal stick boxes wouldn't be an issue and would actually be an improvement. Why is this not a mod?

If you still need an answer type 1&2 are supposed to be interchangeable but type 3 uses a mounting screw that doesn’t exist on 1&2 boards I’m pretty sure
