I'm a Jayce OTP and I approve. 2:37:54 (common mistakes section) is a perfect example of a lot of pitfalls on Jayce. Valuing your life is probably the best advice I'd give. I spent a lot of time doing lots of 50/50's and then eventually I realized as a one trick you don't really have to - even in counter matchups.

Absolutely love the guide, such an incredible amount of detail and clearly such a lot of time invested so thank you for your continued effort! One part I thought was some dangerous advice on the teamfighting/skirmishing slide - there is no bs in the game. There is often an overwhelming amount of information to process but its rarely bs. Having no flash vs a malphite doesn't mean that you can just call it bs when you mis position in the river fight around dragon and die, 99% of the time the average player is going to have other options - simply standing back and playing poke, calling the play off entirely and trading sides, making sure you aren't face checking the dark river and waiting for your team etc... Perhaps the point you are trying to make is aimed at trying to focus on the more impactful and important mistakes, or more common scenarios, but I found the term bs unsatisfactory. I really found the specific breakdowns within the rest of the guide incredibly useful, well thought out and simple to comprehend so thanks again!

3:22:26 IMHO it's not a misplay. We see Curtis moving back ASAP after his Hammer-E because he didn't want to give Irelia the opportunity to dash into him to escape. I believe taking the time to buffer an AA after the E is the difference between being in range of Irelia's Q or not.

This is a great guide for jayce, any possibilities you can pin a comment on the builds with the new updates, such as the starting items changes, also runes. I looked up the builds and it seems that Phase rush primary with Ghostblade seems to be the dominant mid-build now days. Since the guide is so useful and 3 hours long (hard work), maybe pinning a comment on builds and or runes updates keeps that part of the guide updated and fresh.

Got two questions coming from an AP Kaisa top main: Would you consider jayce scaling enough to allow for a completely passive top lane approach (that is, going for a muramana rush with cull, foregoing the lethality spike until second item). And I understand that not losing lane is important, but how would you go about farming from behind? Can his Q E in hammer be used as self peel during tower dives, while farming purely with cannon (Qs only if necessary)?

in top lane Jayce functions less as a scaler but rather as a lane bully. If you are looking for a hyper scaler on top Jayce isnt the right champion for you there sadly. Jayce has SOME self peel but its not enough when behind vs a tower dive. On top theres a few champions that will just mess you up, especially with a high threat jungler like J4 or Vi

one thing I wish this guide would have is a clear way to optimally waveclear in which situation and how. I see a lot of jayce players clearing cannon waves by QE ing the melees and the cannon, using W attack speed and hammer Q on cannon and ranged creeps to clear the wave the fastest, but when you don't have all cooldowns up I don't know whether to hammer Q/ cannon Q the melees or how to use my hammer W to setup the creeps since there is a lot of confusing variations going on.

its pretty nuanced in a lot of situations but for a general rule of thumb: if the enemies have a lot of melee champs we go eclipse. If they have a lot of range we go youmous for poke and burst. If they have a combination i think Duskblade is good :)

2:46:20 how would you rank Jayce's skins' ability to cause confusion. Stuff like: telling abilities apart (possibly confusing them with other champions' abilities), or perhaps make skillshots less visible (I think Nidalee has a skin infamous for this, in addition to Lux). That is if any of the Jayce skins have a similar ability to cause confusion/hide information.

Im not sure if youll see this but worth a try ig. You put lux in easy tier but i just got completely stomped in lane by one running electrocute /ignite. With her e slowing my engage and her having a very easy q opportunity on me when I try to q it was pretty oppressive and pretty much came down to trying to get the cs I'm allowed to get n outscaling. Any thoughts on what i might be doing wrong?

Hey mate! I think were playing too fast into lux. Try to play this with TP and PR. Staand outside of the wave and keep it neutral. Aim to reset on ATLEAST 550 gold for tear + refill. Post level 5 you can start poking her down with your Q-E’s

It's a hard champion to pick up. If you have a lot of self discipline and can stick to only Jayce instead of swapping champions you could make it work, But otherwise i would not really recommend :D

is the First strike nerf a big nerf for jayce usage? i see on probuildstats that jayce most often takes phase rush now with a 50% pick rate in midlane and a 24% for first strike.
