32:08 GIVE THEM A POINT!!!!! 😤💯THIS!!! 🎯🎯🎯 Can't wait til this becomes a more common standard, the industry sorely needs that... man this episode was perfect, grateful to the HMD/MyAudioNerds squad for making this ep happen. Pushing buttons & engineering are 2 different things... A great recording engineer often contributes to the song's writing, composition, and vocal performance, taking on the role of a “producer” rather than solely an audio engineer. For this reason, a 1% royalty on publishing rights is justified. A great mix/master engineer not only collaborates on the production with creative input on elements like the beat and vocal melodies but often defines the sonic fingerprint of the recording. In doing so, they also function as a “producer” beyond the technical role. Therefore, 1% royalties on master rights are deserved for each role-1% for mixing and 1% for mastering. So, 1-3% in total should be allocated to your engineer(s) if they deserve it.
@RobertTomaАй бұрын
Facts 💯 Mix is not only about fixing problems, its a creative process.The sound engineer is an artist. The song is the most important thing. Let the Ego at the door and start making art!
@metawooferАй бұрын
Yeah but sometimes they just need to enhance it or they become a producer on the record. Jaycen has had mixes rejected because they did too much.
@johnjhonny646Ай бұрын
No. If you change the music of your customers, they will not come back to you. You have to modify it to what the customer wants, and that is a service that provides tech, not creation.

And they all want paid members, that’s $130 added onto the monthly $25 for KZbin premium. Sheesh, and now there’s even Express Memberships like math hoffa’s channel.🤦🏽♂️ just saying, it makes people feel bad that they can’t even afford to Pay for extra support when they’re already supporting.

I want to express my gratitude to everyone involved in this amazing interview. One of the most interesting aspects for me was how Devvon expressed his appreciation for having Jaycen as a mentor, inspiring him to delve deeper into the world of audio engineering. It was evident that Jaycen felt proud during this special moment because it felt genuine and not forced. The fact that Devvon has taken the time to study Jaycen's expertise speaks volumes. This is the kind of mentorship that every engineer should have. I recall my audio engineering instructor telling our entire class that he couldn’t share everything he knew because, if he did, he would be out of a job. I truly appreciate each of you for this video. It has motivated me to strive to reach your level. This is incredibly inspiring.

Damn, this was an incredible pod this week! I learned so much, and a lot of what y'all discussed put a lot of things into perspective for me. I'm not really a n engineer at all, more of just a producer, but I love hearing and learning all there is to know about mixing and training my ears better, and hearing that Jaycen also went through some times where he questioned his purpose is super relatable to me. I'm turning 34 next month, and I sometimes feel like I'm not where I need to be, and opportunities have long past me, but hearing and seeing y'all work hard every week is inspiring to say the least, and lights a fire in me to keep going. Both The God Particle and Orion are great too, as they really also help me optimize my templates better to only include things that are more essential for my workflow, so thanks to Jaycen and Cradle for their hard work.

JJ is such a cool Guy, man, just the vibe of this Guy you know he's the type of person you want to be in a studio with, serious, but approachable, banter with work ethics and just the right reasons to keep doing music. Took me a while to buy TGP and it made a world of difference in my sound, and now it lives rent free on my Master Bus and of course, when Orion got out, I ran to grab the Demo and after the Trial ended I was like "nah, bro I ain't living without this thing on my drum bus anymore" 😂 this is just how it just lifts anything, on your Drum Bus it just sounds RICH. And both of them, working together?! They really made something great, here. Big boy episode right there. 🔥
