I've only been crocheting for about 6 months now and am self taught just by watching tutorials. Just finished this lovely place at pattern. First time making one. I found it very easy. Haven't ever blocked anything so am watching your tutorial on that.You are a great teacher. Love your enthusiasm! Filmwork is clear and easy to see and follow along. Thanks so much.

Hi Jayda, I am halfway through one of these, and I wanted to tell you that I love your videos. I just let my hubby hear you and I told him your voice sounds like happy sunshine! Your tutorials are my favorite. You explain things really well. I'm making these for my Granddaughter's housewarming party. She's going to love them. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your talent with us. God Bless.

I have made doily inspired placemats but mine have scalloped edges. I like that yours are pointy. 😊 They were easy and quick to make. I like mine under a plate on top of a placemat. It does look like a charger, as you say, and gives a more substantial look without actually being heavy. My aunt liked mine so much when she came to dinner that I made her a set as well. And now my other aunt wants a set, too, so I will be busy making placemats soon. Loved the video. It was very clear and easy to follow. Thank you! 💖🌸🌈👏

Thank you for sharing such clear tutorials! I’m a beginner at crochet (6 months now) and made six, 2 each in red, white & blue for U.S. 4th of July dinner party . The placemats & coasters (each in 3 US flag colors which I made following your other video) were a wonderful conversation piece. People seem to appreciate hand-made work nowadays more than ever. Really excited to have the good fortune to find you as there’s no one else to learn from. Thank you!!!

Thanks for this tutorial. 💕 I've used doilies as place mats before; I made several 6-pointed pineapple doilies in different colors in college to put under my clear glass dishes. I remember one boyfriend didn't think that that was really clever. No surprise that we didn't date for long. I have young children now, so we use quilted place mats with the alphabet and numbers. We need some tractor-themed place mats, I think.

Hi Jayda, I love this. I've looking for something pretty yet simple. Thanks! Can this be started with a magic ring/circle instead of joining chains? If yes, how?

I watched this tutorial the other night as I was going to sleep. I just went and purchased your pattern on etsy just now. I have been looking for a doily placemat pattern for a while now, but I've not been able to find one that I liked, until I saw this video. My mom is wanting a set of 12 placemats for Christmas this year and I believe I can make these quite easily, at least you sure make it look easy lol. I've only been crocheting for 6 or 7 months so far, but I believe I should not have any trouble with these. Thanks so much for always putting out such awesome projects and amazing tutorials 😊

@JaydaInStitches
@JaydaInStitches 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Janice, if you're making a big round throw, it's easiest to use the ever-increasing circle method, and double crochet is a good stitch for that :)

This was an awesome doiley. You are a very good instructor. I’ve made different ones. Use them for placing them between pots and pans, including my cast iron pans. Will make a lot more to give away. Thank you. Will you be making different sizes in the future?

After making your tea pot cozy, and the larger placement, I've only just realized it looks like we both have Royal Albert bone china! Yours is Old Country Roses I think! I have the Val d'or set (partial after a moving accident) supplemented with some microwavable plates/bowls for convenience.

Hi Barbara, if you wanted to change colours throughout this pattern, you certainly could, I would suggest any colour changes be done at the ends of rows and not in the middle :)

Hi Jayda, I am so glad I found you! You explain things very simple and slowly! I do have one question, which I am not sure you do...when you go under the chain or loop, are you going under 1 or 2 of the loops. I've seen some KZbin tutorials that do just either the front loop or just the back loop and some that go through both. Being a somewhat beginner, it would help to know which is best. Thank you! And, I have to agree with Ms. Perry, you have such a bubbly persona and very welcoming!!! :-) :-)
@JaydaInStitches
@JaydaInStitches 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Lori! If you're joining at the top of the Chain-3, you can really use whatever part of that stitch makes it easy AND keeps it neat and tidy against the stitch next to it. I typically use the chain like I would if I were to crochet into it (so 2 loops across the top, 1 underneath my hook). This can change depending on the pattern (or teacher) because you can get slightly different effects depending on what part you use. For this pattern, it's not terribly important which part you use :)
