How To Use A Duvet - What is a Duvet ?

You basically put your own comforter inside it. It’s suggested that you use only your comforter or only the duvet in the summer months and fill it with your comforter in the winter months for a warmer feel. Me personally, I keep it filled year long as I like the feeling of the added weight. This comforter was from zgallerie.

I just bought my first cal king duvet and when it arrived, I was like “what is this flimsy comforter. Then I noticed the zippers. I tried to put my queen size comforter in it, what a job that was. It’s ok for now but I am going to buy the insert and do it the way you just showed. Girl thank you

that's because you ordered a duvet cover. A duvet is something similar to a comforter (big and fluffy) - it's what you are calling 'an insert'. However it needs to go in a duvet cover, which is what she has in this video. Think of a duvet like a pillow, and a duvet cover like a pillow case. Calling duvet cover a duvet is what will confuse the heck out of you if you try googling.

A tip: I use Masking tape, the wider I can get, to remove my cat's hair; and the last thing I did just yesterday was, stick several masking tape lines, one next to the other, overlapping only the edges, so I made a very wide piece, and that made my job easier. Also, masking tape is very cheap.

ψGacha Wafflesψ Yeah, pretty much. You can put a comforter and/or a duvet inside a duvet cover. It’s useful if you ever want to change the appearance, so you can swap duvet covers whenever. It would probably be a little more cost effective.

Yes using your own comforter is an option or you will need to purchase a duvet insert 🤦🏽‍♀️. It is kind of unnecessary and if you want a nice quality duvet it’s a little expensive. I like layers on top of layers on my bed so i have one for height and plush. I could have done without it though.

Honestly tho, why does my comforter need to put a coat on? Lol. I guess just to be warmer in the winter.. cuz in the spring/summer, I just sleep with my sheet set & maybe a blanket. & comforter is fine in the fall, but yeah by winter I'm sleeping with the heater by the bed bc even the comforter isn't warm enough 😭

Imagine your comforter, but it's naked - no pattern or anything - that's what a duvet is. Duvet covers (the coat - lol!) go on the duvet to keep it clean, and to allow you to change it to match different bedding etc. You can put a comforter in a duvet cover, but it wasn't meant for one - your comforter has a built in 'coat', duvets don't!
