My FF is the car I most regret parting with. I did 20,000 very happy miles in it, including the Ferrari 70th anniversary rally. Crossing the Alps in that with 500 other Ferraris and the rozzers looking the other way courtesy of Ferrari was one of the best motoring experiences ever.

I didn't go much on my FF when I still owned one. Sure, it was practical'ish, reasonably quick and had a nice note, but it just didn't make me feel anything. My Bugatti Veyron, on the other hand? Well. Impractical? Yes. Guzzles fuel? Absolutely. Better than both Ferraris, a Lamborghini and McLaren that I've owned previously? By a country mile. This car, the Veyron, is just absolutely mind blowing.

Good looks: er, maybe...458 still very pretty but still TOO much money! Flogged the 355 after 10 years and much fun. Absolutely didn't buy it as an investment but paid £35K, sold for £75K...minus the odd bit of maintenance....haha, ask any 355 owner about that! Geez Jay! I don't know what to say!? That was a brilliant review and sums up exactly how I feel about my ownership, although I'm only a few months in now. When people ask me what i think about mine i think I will just point them to this video as you articulated my thoughts perfectly. When asked what I will replace it with one day I have absolutely no idea. The Lusso is, like you say, a better daily but no necessarily a better drivers car, in fact I think its too sanitised. (by comparison of course) For me, a couple of things niggle me which i am working my way through; first is those amber side repeaters, I changed mine for clear. Second is the ride height, like most Ferrari's the gap in the wheel arches is just too much. As you said, you didn't need to use the lift and that tells you everything you need to know about how high it sits. I have 2 axle lift so I will be lowering mine. Third is the noise. If I could drive around with the rear hatch open all day I would! The sound coming out the back is glorious but not enough of it gets in the cabin, So I'm hoping a Novitec fixes that. Other than that i feel its the perfect car and one I can share (as I do) with my family. I can take the kids to car meets, do the school run and euro jaunts (when we're allowed - cant wait!) I love these and would buy one but the thing that puts me off is that front gearbox, or PTU as Ferrari calls it. Firstly, if it goes wrong (and they do) you just don't want to know the number Ferrari charges to replace it. Secondly if you need to get at the front of the engine to replace, for example a seal or something, it all has to come off. That is also a lot of hours and therefore a lot of money. The reason these cars are cheap is not because they have 4 seats (that's a forum myth that has gone on for years) its because once out of warranty any failure of the highly complex and unique drive train technology this car has will practically write it off financially. Now if someone could do a 2WD conversion.......

I'm suddenly interested in a Ferrari FF. All the RS6 comparisons were a confusing though, I've never seen any one cross shopping between an FF and an RS6.
@AntoniusTyas3 жыл бұрын
Somehow people act like they were cross-shopping between both, what with current RS6 making 600hp. Much as I like RS6, it just isn't as special as FF.
@Harpreet063 жыл бұрын
@@AntoniusTyas Definitely isn't as special as an FF, still confused about the comparison a month later. If I'm looking to buy a fast estate car, I wouldn't look at FF's lol.

I’m a very fortunate guy and I own a Porsche GT2 RS, Ferrari California, Ferrari 458 Italia and a 2014 FF, and the ride, the leather smell and the V-12 sounds and the endless amounts of power are just amazing, and by far , my favorite vehicle to drive ! They are phenomenal and extremely reliable! Thanks for sharing 🇺🇸 PS. Prices in the USA are going through the roof on all naturally aspirated V8 and V12’s !

Great video Jay, I really like the FF. Not had the chance to drive one yet but since Shmee bought his a few years back, I’ve had my opinion changed. They also sound good, hearing one around the track at Donington last weekend, only the F12 & the older cars could could match it… Just need to find one to try now….

612, FF and GTC4Lusso are the Ferrari for me as with 2 young children would need to fit the family if I ever want to drive it regularly. Interesting to hear your take of FF compared with GTC4Lusso especially as FF costs practically half of the GTC4Lusso. I still love Chris Harris' comment when he bought his FF back in 2014 for around £160k, "Sometimes you have to do stupid things, because you want to do stupid things" I just wish I was brave enough to get one, keep it for a year to experience that glorious Ferrari v12!

Dang, in on the ground level for an FF vid. For my tastes, the best car Ferrari have made in the last 30~ years. I'll most likely never be in the position to buy one but the FF is probably in my top 3 ultimate dream cars. Also if you're interested in the FF do yourself a favor and watch the 2000 mile roadtrip video that Harry's Garage put out years ago. It's amazing and worth your time. Good job on this vid to boss!

This in dark blue paint like Blu TdF or Blu Swaters or something like Bianco Italia or Grigio Ingrid with Crema interior with interior panels painted in exterior colour is just the perfect spec. Any wheel options from Ferrari is alright by my standard.

Ffs I have been watching these for nearly two years fall at 10-15 k per year and they were still falling, this will soon hit bottom at £80k for a 2011-12 car and then sit there Now you have made this video it’s pretty much guaranteed that they won’t fall any further as there are only 15-25 for sale at any time in the U.K.

I don't have £100,000 to spend on a car and if I did it would probably go towards a house instead. I also don't believe in finance packages and would rather own a used car outright. You do realise that rapid inflation is coming and that means interest rates will have to be raised soon which will make car payments hard to repay. The Storm is coming...
@freddiejones45983 жыл бұрын
Depends what the finance package is. From new often the finance package is much better than buying outright. I’ve got 140i. I put 5k down and it’s £410 a month. That means over the 3 year deal I’m out of the door for less than 20k. The car will depreciate more than that over 3 years..

@andrewholt38493 жыл бұрын
I’m by no means an expert, but you need comments. This is my ultimate: along with its replacement, the GTC-4 Lusso FANTASY car. Whilst I’ve still got your attention. One of your colleagues: Harry Metcalfe has always had a soft spot for this and wants one. He did an excellent video on it where Ferrari UK 🇬🇧 gave him one for a week over Christmas around 2014. He went skiing, driving to the French Alps with a car full of mates. Tiff Needell did a Fifth Gear review of it invited by Ferrari to the Italian Dolomites and loved it, but he, like Harry Metcalfe isn’t stupid. I’d say Harry splashed out on exotic machinery at the right price: £50K for this, for example and Tiff only drives free sponsored BMW or knackered family cars. I’ve just been watching the latest Jay Leno video in the Ferrari 812 GTS convertible and the owner: one of the first in the US has the benefit of 7-years Ferrari free servicing which this car doesn’t. What is the cost of repairing the 4-wheel drive system or even a regular service or a new set of Pirelli P-Zeros? They were about £300K a decade ago so is this worth £100K? Undeniably a fantastic car, but for £100K and you paying for everything which would cost a fortune when new. Perhaps your mate might like to see if Harry Metcalfe is interested. I’m sure he wood be, at the right price. The FF was better looking than it’s replacement GTC-4 Lusso, but is probably less refined as Chris Harris commented in his video on it as he owned one as well.

When it comes to Ferraris built in the last 20 years, I have a feeling that you would get less hate from jealous motorists/pedestrians with the front-engined configured Ferraris, compared to the midengined Ferraris. Particularly with the case of the FF and the GTC4 Lusso - they have that practical hatchback/estate body, which psychologically would make most people think that the driver has not got an inflated ego, but instead is selfless and perhaps could denote that he/she could be a responsible person with a family. Love the spec on James's car, and also the Rosso Fuoco colour that Mr JWW had with his 458 Speciale, but for as an introvert I probably would go for the Le Mans Blue that Shmee had, but with dark tan/brown seats.
