About accents: Every part of Gujarat has their own dialect and accent of Gujarati. As far as I can understand this is probably from west or north-west of Gujarat. I haven’t seen the movie yet but from trailer can tell you as a Gujarati he nailed it. The character played by Pratik Gandhi was from Mumbai, and thus that accent which is also similar to central Gujarat. One can’t simply compare it for simple reason that both characters come from different regions of Gujarat.

Spoiler..!!!. I hated how in the end, when the women , probably for the first time, made a decision for themselves, and said 'we are leaving this oppressive life and husband', Jayesh immediately asked them not to. Coz our prathaa, paramparaa and sanskar refuse to let women have a peaceful life even in fictional storytelling. There's taking things with a grain of salt and then there's erasing trauma. Jayesh's sister was tortured for 9 years(!) and she forgave her husband in matter of seconds! Mudra's father seemed 'supportive' on a superficial level, objecting to calling his DIL 'barren', but stood by and let his own son abuse her for years. The whole 'don't kill female fetus coz they're future mothers etc' is basically saying 'women are only worthy of life as living incubators'. How Jayesh grows up to be a closeted liberal despite his orthodox upbringing is a mystery. It was exhausting to watch, and in a fitting way, in a movie about female feticide, the only person who was like a gust of cool breeze was Siddhi- the daughter.
@user-sh112 жыл бұрын
Thank you! This is the comment I was looking for. The end just excused all men as a product of their upbringing, never even making them apologise. Jayesh even discouraged women from leaving after their rebellion, how many do you think were abused that day when they got home? It is just understood that they “changed”. This is the main problem with issues like that. People just mediate and consider the problem gone, when it mostly makes it worse. Men pretend to understand in front of company, then behave differently when alone. A man chasing a pregnant women to kill her is not going to change overnight because some other men told him to! He is too set in his believes, even if there is little improvement it will not come that fast.

The very first thing that film makers need to recognise is the change of movie economics. Audiences prefer to watch small films on OTT and big films in theaters. Hence as per the change of taste films like RRR or KGF or any other such big scale films must release in theaters while small films like Jayeshbhai Jordaar must release on OTT space. Middle class people can't afford tickets for such small movies as ticket rates are not cheap. The earlier they recognise it, the better they start monetization on the same.

I did not find this to be a flop at all, compared to many other movies I’ve seen that became “well recognized” by media. “Student Of The Year” is a great example of the most garbage, High School Musical type crap I’ve ever seen to this date. I couldn’t even sit there and finish it because of how overly dramatized so many things were in that movie. It literally felt as though that movie was only made for high schoolers. I couldn’t take it seriously and still have no idea how that movie became so widely known. It’s very simple: you are projecting media bias on a phenomenal actor’s work. And I don’t think he was just good, but along with every single cast member. They did an AMAZING job capturing each emotions while not being overly dramatic with anything. I, along with everyone else in the theater, experienced nothing but continuous laughter and joy throughout the whole movie. It wasn’t dull for even a moment. You’re entitled to your own opinion, but you most certainly don’t speak for the majority. 🙏
