You dont have to shift it in manual mode. It will upshift for you at redline. Strange how you couldnt launch it in regular dynamic S mode. Fun Fact: 1. You can turn that annoying beeping noise off when your door is open by pressing the triangle arrow buttons on the steering wheel 2: The Glove box is AC'ed so you can store a bottle of water in there and it will keep it cool. 3. You can have the air pumping residual cool air from the AC when the car is off by holding down the fan button when you car is on but not the engine. 4. You can pop the trunk by sweeping your foot under the rear valance. 5. There are hooks in the trunk to hook plastic bags when you go grocery shopping so they dont flop around everywhere. I got more but too lazy to type. You bought yourself an awesome car. I own one as well.

So I've driven a B8.5 S4 and even when you put it in manual mode by moving the gear lever to manual mode, it'll still up shift for you which pisses me off. Your saying it does the same thing in the S6?

It's a shame how many people don't appreciate the A/S6 let alone Audi in general. Haters say its just an over priced Volkswagon. Only true enthusiasts understand how Audi brings a "Stealth wealth" type of style to the road that isn't overly flashy while maintaining a luxury curb appeal. Nice vid I like your spec too.

That’s the instrument panel cluster chief, not the heads up display. An HUD comes with a prestige and projects a reflection of information on the windshield right in front of the driver so they don’t have to look down at the cluster or at the MMI for navigation.

Thank you Jay. I have this model several years previously, I dont see a lot of others in the NYC area; pity. The car is extremely quiet inside with the noise equalizing, the headsup (which shows lanes if you want it) I keep on constantly, the frontlooking radar part of the cruise control is remarkable as the car mimics what the car 3-4-5 car lengths ahead is doing, and the crash warning and avoidance control pointed both fore and aft has saved Geico a ton of money.... I had a guy notice the V8T on the side of the car and he sat there till I fired up, I asked why, he hadnt heard one before. Good legroom in rear a major plus for us. Audi servicing is just wonderful.

Hey bro, cool channel but I did have a question. When you say the M5 was in race mode all the time, did you try driving it with dialed down settings? I'm assuming you know, or the Audi dealer showed you how to adjust the performance setting of the M5, since transmission, throttle response and suspension can all be adjusted independently. Sport+, sport and normal are all very different but I wouldnt say the dialed back settings resemble a race mode in terms of ride or shift comfort. Anyways, I ask because I have an M5 down south but haven't had an S series Audi in a few years and am wondering if it's time to take a look again since it would be nice to have one for my place in Boston. Also voiding the warranty is not at a dealership’s discretion. When a dealer scans your car for anything, even resetting your maintenance light, they’re supposed to run a spec/actual which checks to make sure the software present is what’s supposed to be there. If the spec/actual finds different, this info is reported to Audi when the paperless GFF is uploaded, and then your VIN will be flagged with warranty key TD1, all automatically, possibly without the dealer knowing at that time, which voids the vast majority of your warranty (at least the expensive stuff) instantly at all dealerships. They might accidentally do a warranty repair but the claim will be denied.

I also test drive the 2018 BMW 5-series and Audi A6 the same day, we pick Audi but did not go for S6, not a power driver, got the A6 prestige with comfort chair. Everyday I drive this car, never think back to the BMW. Thanks for the in dept great review BTW.

Interesting review. I have 76,000 on my '13 S6. APR stage 1 and upgraded brakes (15 1/2" drilled rotors get some comments). ABSOLUTELY LOVE this car. considering stage 3 upgrade (Silly Rabbit Motorsports billet turbos). Only a few minor repairs and 1 expensive covered by warranty, the breather valve. I plan on keeping it for a long while. I don't like the interior on the 19's as much.

Jay Flat Out Custom Order, i’m going to get the tornado Grey, with black leather interior, the driving assistance package, cold weather because I live in Michigan, black wood inlays, I’m going to keep the sport seats although the messaging function sounds really nice, and I I’m considering getting the bang olufsen speakers but I haven’t decided yet. Do you have an opinion on the speakers? I had them in a 2009 Audi A5 and they’re really nice but that upgrade was only $1200 and the s6 is $5000 upgrade. I’m pretty excited and I totally agree with you when you compared the Audi to the M5 or E63. My only complaint about the Audi is that I wish I had a little bit more exhaust note. I might look into a exhaust modification but we’ll see when I get the car. I still have to wait three months. Looking forward to the next video!

I have the Bose speaker package in mine, still a great sound with subwoofers built in from factory. The S6 opens up the exhaust note in Dynamic mode but in comfort it is scaled back. Audi offers a $10k exhaust as a warranty in-tact factory option but I passed on that. I'm told Miltek and Armatrix exhausts are great on these cars. I'm just nervous changing the exhaust seeing as a portion of it is electronically controlled. I'd want to be certain the new exhaust worked with the factory drive mode selections without throwing check engine lights.

Just placed my order, skipped the B&O, and skipped the Sport Package. I heard the Sport Differential is only needed if tracking the car or driving it really hard. It would be cool if you did a video comparing the Sport Package elements compared to the stock S6. Thanks for the Videos!

My 2018 model does not have the Audi Apple car play (UK model). No idea why. Audi UK don’t seem to know either. Fast car but quite basic tech. My mate has the S3 and it’s far better for the tech. Yeah it’s a fast, but I’ve found mine to be very disappointing.

Americans still at least get the petrol v6. Here in Europe we only have a v6 Tdi in latest s6. Torquey yes but same powertrain as s4 and sq5. Literally same hp for 10k more. I went for a 2016 v8 instead, lucked out with a rare one, only 7k miles. Best car I've owned so far by a mile. Just Savage.

Leonel Iglesias why isn't it a twin turbo. You are right about the RS7 and the S6 engine being de-tuned version of it. You could prob chip it to 650 without too much trouble getting it u- there.

I was driving from Sudbury (Canada) to North Bay (Canada) in my 18 Infiniti Q50 AWD Red Sport and was behind a black Audi S6. It was the only car that was as good as mine when passing. He and I played the entire way. We hit speeds of 125 MPH often while in those passing zones on Trans Canada 17. However had I installed my mods we would have been even.. a Tune and full exhaust makes the 3.0L twin turbo produce 427 hp 460 tq at the wheels, equal to a stock S6. On the plus side you get the Japanese reliability and less cost of ownership. Let alone being $20k less to start.. add $5K in mods you you are still a lot less. However I'd rather have the S6 if I had unlimited money. But I don't. 26 MPG and 427 at the wheels is close to A6 performance. My Q50 handles and stops like a S6 too. After my car is done I'd love to hook up driving with him again. Then I'd keep up. S6 is an amazing sleeper just like my Q50 Red Sport.

Because first off there is about .3s between the RS7/M6 which everyone knows is so negligible it would be decided by response time and tire condition (i.e. temp) more than anything else. 2nd, the RS7 rides like a skateboard in my opinion compared to the M so have fun taking a 6hr drive in that RS
